23.01.2022 40 years this week since the OEAQ was founded with a meeting at Kelvin Grove teachers college. We found an old edition of a horizon publication, has anyone got some stories or publications from our first 10 years back in the 1980’s

21.01.2022 Only 3 weeks to go now until this year’s Far North QLD Facilitator’s of Outdoor Learning Forum, held in Cairns. See the photos for further details and for more information, or to request an email link to register, please email [email protected]

21.01.2022 Here is a chance to help out an OE specific research project. Info from some of our Tertiary Sector colleagues is below. -- YOUR FEEDBACK IS VALUED -- Please see below a request for your valuable feedback regarding the Threshold Concepts for Tertiary Outdoor Education Graduates... Dear Outdoor Educators’ Association of Queensland Member, We are writing to ask if you could please take the time (approx. 10 minutes) to complete a survey on Threshold Concepts for Tertiary Outdoor Education graduates. https://uniofsunshinecoast.syd1.qualtrics.com//SV_ea4Z0ON7 The purpose of this survey is to gain feedback on, and improve, draft Threshold Concepts (i.e. ways of describing what university graduates know and can do) which are being developed by Australian university outdoor education academics to describe what graduates who have studied outdoor education know and are able to do. These Threshold Concepts are not meant to replace descriptions of outdoor educator’s activity-specific skills and competencies. The aim of this study is to develop a set of nationally agreed Threshold Concepts for university graduates who have undertaken studies in Outdoor Education. Yours outdoors, Glyn Thomas Dave Hills Anthony Mangelsdorf Marcus Morse Sandy Allen-Craig Scott Polley

18.01.2022 Do you have a moment to share your opinion and thoughts with OEA for the next National Conference? Gathering together as an outdoor community to share our learnings is integral to our growth!

04.01.2022 Some great sharing of knowledge yesterday as a small group of paddlers journeyed off shore to a breaking reef off Caloundra. Let us know what type of events you would like to see in the future?

03.01.2022 Know the Ropes. These books provide some great analysis into accidents and how to prevent them. What are 3 fundamentals every belayer should know? A free OEAQ beer cooler for the first person with the correct answer!
