25.01.2022 Good morning OEASA community As you may already be aware, Facebook has changed the way that they deal with news related content on Facebook. However, they have applied a very broad definition of what constitutes news content. As a result, certain government agencies, such as the CFS, SA Health and the Bureau of Meteorology, have also been blocked from sharing what Facebook describes as news content (in some cases, all content). The Federal Government is negotiating with F...acebook from today around the raft of issues that the definition of news content has created in Australia. You can still obtain news based content and updates from individual websites, Instagram and Twitter. Unfortunately the impact for OEASA is that we are no longer able to share any of these types of updates from any of the government agencies or any other pages or outlets who have been blocked. We will continue to monitor the negotiations between the government and Facebook and in the meantime we will endeavour to share content that is allowed under the new Facebook rules that is still interesting and relevant to our community.
