24.01.2022 Our cricket club would like to welcome our new sponsors Southern Bug Busters for the 2020/21 season. A small father and son business, with a history at the rats. Bevan used to coach many of our junior teams in the early 2000s, son Bowen playing all the way through to 16s. Despite Co-vid impacting on their business they were happy to come on board and support our cricket club. 15.01.2022 To all the local Cricket community, one of the OFCC greats Owen Babula needs your help. Earlier in the year Owen was diagnosed with a debilitating neurological disorder. As you can imagine, this has heavily impacted himself & his young family. In order to help with fundraising for treatment, a 4 person ambrose golf day has been organised by the Moss Vale Golf Club who which he is a member. Let's do our bit to help by entering as many teams as we can. ... To enter a team, you can either book directly with the pro shop, or let us know & we can book on your behalf. 15.01.2022 We are extremely saddened to hear of the passing of one of the club greats in Dean Bendall. Known throughout the district as a true gentleman by all his opposition & known throughout our club as the super coach. Week after week Dean would keep the opposition batsman at bay with his incredible accuracy & uncanny ability to take early wickets. He played in over 10 grand finals both as a player & captain. He was also a key part in rebuilding our junior base after the turn of th...e century & turning it into one of the strongest in the area which we still enjoy the fruits of today. His passion for coaching was unmatched & he no doubt impacted the lives of dozens of kids in our community. Dean was unfortunately diagnosed with brain cancer nearly 4 years ago & was only given a handful of months to live. As we can see, his strong determination & love for his family, music, sport & life extended those few months well beyond expectancy. Please raise a grass for Dean tonight at midnight & share a quite moment to reflect on the great man. His legacy will lve on at the Oak Flats Cricket Club through the Bendall-Bannerman outstanding junior cricketers award that Dean introduced several years ago. RIP Dean Bendall
