18.01.2022 Off Centre Gallery wishes everyone a Happy Easter as we continue to upload our artists works onto our website so that you may enjoy viewing inspiring and stimulating art during this continuing period of isolation. This superb linocut print by Anita Laurence titled ‘Waterways’ is available as an unframed or framed print. Unframed size: 56 x 42cms. A masterful work that depicts the local Ovens and King Rivers Billabong systems that join up during flood with native trees repre...sented in a variety of expressive ways, also many local native grasses and reeds feature. There is a wonderful sense of movement that flows within this evocative print of waterways In this post you can view a snap of a wood framed version, as well as the entire print area. We have it in stock in a white mount and black frame and also as an unframed print. We also are able to organise a reclaimed Kauri Pine timber framed print if required. This work was carved into a large lino-block by Anita in her north east Victorian studio and has been hand printed on site by Master Printer Bill Young. The work is a fine example of Anita’s works representing the local region, it has a sense of one aspect of the vast waterways that cannot always be seen. Many other stunning prints by Anita and other artists may be accessed via the gallery website under the ‘Stockroom’. 17.01.2022 Although we are temporarily closed we offer you stunning artworks by many of our artists that may be enjoyed in our online Stockroom. One of these is Alan Phillips’ large, new and dynamic central desert painting seen here. ‘Desert Lake’ is now uploaded on the website: www..off-centre.com.au or tel 0427 802 418. Read the artists own commentary of this painting below. Although we are sorry not to be able to welcome you into the gallery we do invite you to view this and othe...r works on our website in the gallery ‘Stockroom’. @off.centre.gallery.studio is located @milawacheese factory site within the @milawagourmet region in north east Victoria, we look forward to welcoming you back to the gallery space in the, hopefully, not too distant future. Alan says of this series: Desert Lake is part of a series of paintings on remote lakes and water courses in the Central Australian Deserts, the Gibson and Great Victoria deserts in particular. This painting was inspired from a recent trip along the Rawlinson Ranges near the WA and NT border west of Uluru in the Gibson Desert. It depicts the dry salt deposits left when the water evaporates from ephemeral lakes and exposes the many gullies and erosions including the tracks made by animals coming to the source to drink and the man-made car tracks by the local traditional owners. The outline of the mountains on the horizon and the night sky, encapsulates a traditional western 'long view' whilst the foreground examines a more detailed view. #australianpainting #australianartist #painting #oilpainting #outbacklandscape #landscape #centralaustralianart #artofinstagram #instaart #artforthehome #artfortheoffice #artfortheboardroom

14.01.2022 During this time of isolation it is heartening to view stunning works of art that may inspire, uplift or engage us. In this major acrylic on linen painting Shallow Waters (122 x 122cm) by Kate Gorman, there are large areas of colour and form reflecting an intuitive approach that abstractly represents the landscape and in this case, includes waterways. Kate is a colourist whose works ebb and flow as she pushes and pulls paint, surface, shape, line and finer detail that for...m the dynamics of each work, until achieving a finished result. This work is complete and as such satisfying. Each of us will respond in an individual way to it, as we delve into its depths, and this is what is required to engage authentically. Other works by Kate and other off centre artists may be viewed on our website in the ‘Stockroom’.
