Pre BirdieBall I was unable to play or practice on a golf course here in Victoria. I was forced to hit real golf balls in different parks around town. This led to hitting cars and at one stage, being attacked by an angry dog walker for thinking of hitting golf balls in his dog park. Then along came BirdieBalls. 21.01.2022 For 2014 Play Golf Week, Off Course Golf and Drummond Golf Fyshwick teamed up to host the best, most fun Come & Try Golf day in the country. And where better to hold it than at Lake Ginninderra alongside the Lighthouse Pub in Canberra. . It was a scorcher of a day but that didn't deter people from turning up all afternoon to try their hand at a range of golf activities. There were heaps of prizes on offer including caps and coolers and for the overall winner on the day a $400 indoor putting green. It was an awesome day, heaps of fun, but the best part? Only two of the people who played were regular golfers. The rest were occasional or new to the game. What a great way to introduce new people to golf! #playgolfweek

01.01.2022 In two weeks time there is a reasonably significant golf competition on in Melbourne - the Australian Masters - whilst in Canberra there is the BirdieBall Shootout. Someone asked us which one they should go and watch. Well .... BirdieBall Shootout:... 1. You can bring anything you want. Especially crates. We welcome crates. Why would anyone object to crates? 2. Accreditation? What the heck is that? If you have a smart phone or a camera, take as many pictures as you want. 3. The people who play in the Shootout are everyday normal people just like you and me. They have a phone, they know what a phone sounds like, it won't upset, surprise, or distract them. So. Ring away. 4. If you want to walk your dog, cat, or anything else why should we stop you? Australian Masters: 1. No video or audio equipments, PDA's, radios, televisions, large eskies, crates, milk crates, stepladders, signs, banners, firearms, explosive devices, etc will be permitted on the grounds. 2. You are not permitted to bring your camera and take photos of the players on any day of the event, except for the Pro-Am day (Wednesday). Only people with official media accreditation will be permitted to take photographs. 3. Mobile phones can distract players and the use of your phones will not be permitted on the course. Please ensure your phone is switched to silent. 4. No pets are allowed on the course and should not be brought to the event.
