24.01.2022 The NSW Institute of Sport and Regional Academies of Sport today announced a partnership that will deliver improved pathway opportunities for regionally based athletes across NSW. A four-year agreement which will run throughout the next Olympic cycle, the partnership will leverage off RASi environments and world class NSWIS high performance expertise to develop coaches, identify emerging athletes and nurture sporting talent through to the elite level of competition. 24.01.2022 A VERY special morning today as the Olympic Cauldron is reignited in Cathy Freeman Park for the 20-Year Anniversary of the #Sydney2000 Olympic Games. Two young Australian athletes, Tenayah Logan, a basketballer with the National Centre of Indigenous Excellence program, and Athletics Paralympian Tamsin Colley, who competed at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games, were given the honour of relighting the Cauldron. 07.01.2022 Australian winter sports athletes are one step closer to having their own world class training facility after the NSW Government today lodged the Development Application for Stage 1 of the National Snowsports Training Centre at Jindabyne with Snowy Monaro Regional Council. Stage 1 of the $5.1 million project will see the construction of a dry slope airbag jump and upgrades to the Jindabyne Sport and Recreation Centre.... 05.01.2022 COMMUNITY SPORT COVID-19 SAFETY PLAN UPDATES As a result of rising COVID-19 case numbers in NSW, NSW Health has revised the COVID-19 Safety Plan template for community sporting competitions and full training activities. We are asking that all community sport organisations across NSW put plans in place to minimise community sport spectators where practical, to parents and carers only. ... Unfortunately this means wed prefer no aunties and uncles, grandparents or siblings crowding the sidelines if they dont need to be there. We are also asking these organisations to ensure processes are in place to exclude participants and spectators if they have visited Victoria in the past 14 days or any of the reported case locations on the NSW Health website. If youre attending a dance class, in the studio you should be able to take two steps in any direction without risk of collision this is around 1.5m distance. If you cant, its probably too crowded and you should bring this to the attention of your instructor. At weddings, only the wedding couple can be on a dancefloor at this time....
