25.01.2022 Well thats a wrap on the first week of the CGEN Special TV Broadcast rehearsals for our dancers, big band, drumline and vocalists! It was so much fun seeing everyone again after so much time apart and its shaping up to be truly incredible showcase of the talent and hard work put in by our CGEN students. 25.01.2022 In The Spotlight is a new segment that we'll be bringing to our CGEN community every fortnight. We'll sit down with some of the incredible and talented people who help bring CGEN to life and ask them about how they came to work on the program. You'll also have the opportunity to submit questions, and give suggestions for who you'd like to hear from on future episodes. Introducing our first guest, Dan Venz. Many of our dancers would remember Dan from last year, as he ran auditions, choreographed two items for the show and was one of our fantastic Show Week Dance Team members. 25.01.2022 Wow! What a huge week its been filming for the CGEN special TV broadcast! The CGEN team and mentors were blown away with the professionalism and the commitment shown by our vocal, dance & instrumental cast. Until the broadcast airs on Channel 10 at 12 pm Saturday 19 September, here are a few sneak peeks of the performances. Thank you to everyone involved for your diligence with the new COVID-safe procedures, the production wouldnt have been possible without your cooperation. Theyve clearly been very busy learning the choreography for the junior massed dance item and putting together some fun pool party costumes! 19.01.2022 THE SHOW GOES ON! While this years production has been cancelled, were excited to share that broadcast partner Channel 10 will be airing a one hour TV special in September! The broadcast will showcase our talented state school students from around Queensland, who would have taken to the stage this year. The special will offer a sneak peek into next years show, and will feature our graduating cohort. More information around our graduating students involvement in the 2021 program will be sent through to teacher coordinators later in the year. Set those countdowns to Saturday 19 September at 12pm!

19.01.2022 Creative Generation: Design is a Queensland Art Gallery/Gallery of Modern Art program engaging senior secondary students in the collaborative process of exhibition design. Year 11 students will work with peers and professionals during Term 4 2020 and Term 1 2021 and contribute to the design of an interactive space in the Queensland Art Gallery. 16.01.2022 We've got 3 words for you. Hip Hop Crew . We are issuing a call out to any Hip Hop students out there to come along to the 2 hour audition on Sunday 8 March . You do not need to be nominating for a featured or massed dance cast. We want to encourage as many students as possible to get involved in the program and be given the opportunity to perform in an arena production, no matter how heavy their external commitments are. If you have a school Hip Hop crew that you enter into eisteddfods, this is an opportunity for you to be dancing together in one crew, rather than in competition. 12.01.2022 It is with a heavy heart that the CGEN team advise the cancellation of Creative Generation State Schools Onstage 2020. Our first priority is the health and wellbeing of our students, teachers, community and contractors at this time. Our team took the time to review this situation, however the heightened level of uncertainty around COVID-19 and the restrictions currently in place has resulted in the decision to cancel the 2020 program. An email has been sent to our CGEN coor...dinators this morning with more information. Ticket holders will be contacted and will receive a full refund. We will be back in 2021, and will ensure our graduating class of 2020 have the opportunity to take to the CGEN stage one last time. Some exciting activities online will continue this year to keep the CGEN spirit alive! The CGEN team thank you for your patience over these past weeks. Stay safe, and we look forward to seeing you back in 2021.

01.01.2022 We're so excited to be welcoming The Hood Dance Academy on board in 2020 to produce the ultimate hip hop crew performance . We're encouraging all state school students who have a passion for hip hop to be nominated by their school, to attend the auditions this Sunday 8 March in Brisbane. It's an opportunity to be a part of one of the largest hip hop crews Queensland has ever seen, and a great experience for students to perform in a nationally televised arena production.
