25.01.2022 UPDATE: A large-scale coordinated operation is under way at Narooma following a boat rollover on the bar just after 6am. A crew from Marine Rescue Narooma, the ...Toll Ambulance Rescue Helicopter and Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter are searching for a person reported missing. The crew of rescue vessel Narooma 30 reports conditions on the water are lumpy, with a 2-2.5 metre swell rolling through. A rescue vessel from Marine Rescue Bermagui and three Rescue Water Craft from MR Narooma and Tuross Marine Rescue are joining the operation, which is also being assisted by several local charter boats and private boat owners searching the inlet. The MR Narooma radio base received an emergency call at 6.18am from a boater reporting the small open runabout had overturned on the bar. That boater, following close behind the runabout, had retrieved one person from the water and was returning to the wharf, where a NSW Ambulance met them. Witnesses reported seeing a second person in the water after the boat rolled.
