23.01.2022 'See a Need. Meet a Need' is back (for those that have been around long enough to remember). Every Monday we are going to make known certain 'needs' that we see in the life of Offspring. This week it is to purchase 2 electric sewing machines. We are buying them second hand and will get them serviced so they are in good working order...a bargain. If you are able to contribute to this need, for a portion of it, or all of it, we would be extremely grateful - www.offspringproject....org/see-a-need/ We acknowledge well and truly that we need an army of people in the journey; we exist because of you!! Thank you

COVID cases continue to climb and there is a whisper of another nation wide lockdown for the world's second most populous country. It's heartbreaking and hard to fully comprehend. Later this week we will hear from our Manager, Priya, who will give us an on the ground update. Look out for her on our socials

17.01.2022 Today is International Day of Chairty To celebrate, the Royal Australian Mint is putting 25 million green & gold 'Donation Dollars' into circulation. That's one for each of us The hope is that people will give them away, or, for it to be a reminder to inject funds into the charitable sector. So why not set up your own Offspring tin & everytime you get one pop it in (oh, that rhymes). Let's see how far this Donation Dollar can go!!

17.01.2022 Can you help us MEET THIS NEED! This week it is to cover the costs for some of the staples at Ahana Midway Home. Our trainees who live at Ahana pay a small amount each month to help cover some of the operating costs, however, it's heavily subsidised by us. $150 will help us cover those costs. So, if you're able to contribute to this need, for a portion of it, or for all of it, we would be extremely grateful - https://offspringproject.org/see-a-need/ We acknowledge well and truly that we need an army of people in the journey; we exist because of you!! Thank you

11.01.2022 This Thanksgiving, we are thankful for RESILIENCE. We’ve seen it time and time again in our trainees, as they’ve been through challenges that are unimaginable. They are young women who have overcome! This year, with the year that it has been, we’ve all learnt a bit of resilience in one way or another & what it means to bounce back (and even being ok with not bouncing back straight away). What are you thankful for? P.s. If you haven’t yet seen Kashis story that @ijm have put together, we encourage you to. She is one of our trainees who has challenged us in what resilience really looks like. Check it out -https://vimeo.com/473086957/89e9f7364b

11.01.2022 Sari headbands...so much colour!!! These ran off the table at our last pop up stall.

06.01.2022 'Through her eyes'...our Trainee asking her Trainer what she's up to. Love how she challenges her to speak English After 10-12 days of hand stitching the blanket, we go through & patch up any holes that may have already pre-existed on the recycled saris....making them look tip, top & fresh for you!! Hopefully not too much longer & we'll have them with us in Australia to sell

06.01.2022 'Through her eyes'...I suppose today she wanted you to see her teacher clean Love the dedication to English here!! They are certainly having fun capturing things going on at our Training Center for YOUR entertainment...even if it is as boring as cleaning

05.01.2022 "See a Need. Meet a Need" is back!! Every Monday we are going to make known certain ‘needs’ that we see in the life of Offspring. This week it is tobuy a printer for our humble office in Australia. With all the libraries closed at the moment, it has become harder to print, scan and do some of the daily admin duties each day. Or maybe you have a printer (in good working order) you're not using at the moment and would like to donate. If so, please email us at [email protected] to meet this need. Or to donate click here - https://offspringproject.org/see-a-need/ We acknowledge well & truly that we need an army of people in this journey; we exist because of you! So if you are in a position to financially contribute to this need, for a portion of it, or for all of it, we are extremely grateful!!

05.01.2022 International Women’s Day (IWD) is coming up and for the first time in a long time, we have our Founder here in Australia and not yet booked! Kristi has spoken at a number of IWD events over the years and brings an inspiring message, not only of her own journey as a professional woman running her own NGO, but also of the incredible resilience of the many women she has worked with around the world. If you have a corporate or social event coming up and would love to have Kristi speak, get in touch with us now ([email protected]). Not only will your guests be inspired, they will also be supporting the wonderful women of Offspring India. What better way to celebrate IWD

05.01.2022 'Through her eyes' - one trainee capturing a photo of another who has just completed her Junior Traineeship This is something we always celebrate Some girls come to us having never put a hand or foot on a sewing machine. By the time they've finished their traineeship, they could whip you up one of our products without any assistance. This is a big deal & provides a lot self belief for them. So today we celebrate this amazing young woman, who is not only excited about her pay rise but also about the fact that when she thinks she can't...she actually can!!

04.01.2022 'Through her eyes'...birthdays are always something to celebrate! It's a time to make them feel extra extra special because that's exactly what they are snapped by one of our trainees as we see into the life of our Training Centre through her eyes!

02.01.2022 'See a Need. Meet a Need' is back! Every Monday, we are goin to make known certain 'needs' that we see in the life of Offspring. This week it is to provide 'chai time' for the rest of the year. Our afternoon chai break ALWAYS comes up as our trainees favourite time of the day. It's when we sit around and sip a hot, overly sweet tea, whilst chatting and laughing about life. It's one of our most important 20 mins of the day!! So, if you're able to contribute to this need, for ...a portion of it, or for all of it, we would be extremely grateful - www.offspringproject.org/see-a-need/ We acknowledge well and truly that we need an army of people in the journey; we exist because of you!! Thank you

01.01.2022 We’re so excited to release our product this year. They’ve got a pop of ethical goodness that will be hard to resist. All ‘handmade and womanmade’ by our trainees in Kolkata. We have bundled all our favourites together and discounted them so that shopping this Christmas is made easy. Check them out on Etsy. Watch our stories to know more - www.etsy.com/au/search?q=Offspring%20Project THANKS A BUNCH!!

01.01.2022 Last week we said goodbye to RK. Recently her grandfather passed away & she has decided to head back home to support her grandmother (in another state). Is it risky for her? In many ways, yes. But this is her family & the risk for her, is worth it. We will continue to support RK, speaking with her on regular occasions to ensure she is doing ok. We're certainly going to miss her big, beaming smile around the place The Memories Journal she is holding is something we give to all our trainees when they finish with us. It has photos of our outings & fun times together, letters of love from all the staff & trainees, and words of encouragement. Hopefully she looks back on this, on both the good days & the bad days, and is reminded of the beautiful person that she is
