24.01.2022 In an effort to support Bendigo frontline health workers, Girton Grammar School has been using 3D printers to make specially designed strips that secure face mask elastic at the back of the head to relieve pressure on ears. The 'ear savers' have been so popular that we've received requests from many organisations, including the Royal Flying Doctor Service where our very own old Girtonian, Chantelle Sobczyk (Frew 2005) is making good use of them. 24.01.2022 After 28 years of distinguished service and profound personal contribution to Girton Grammar School, it is the OGA’s privilege and honour to bestow the highest level of OGA membership on someone who has dedicated themselves to the growth of Girton Grammar School. Mr Dennis Garoni, Founding Head of Junior School, is only the 12th person to become an Honorary Lifetime Member of the OGA and we heartily congratulate him. 19.01.2022 It's not every day a Cambridge PhD visits the school but today was one of those days, with 2004 Girton graduate, Dr Madeline Mitchell, speaking in Senior School... assembly about her life as a Scientist. 17.01.2022 It seems like only yesterday that the class of 2015 were regular fixtures at Girton. We may not be able to reunite tomorrow night, as initially planned, but we hope to see you again just as soon as we can.

14.01.2022 It is with immense sadness that the Girton community has learned of the passing of Mrs Viv McMillan on Sunday 13th December. Since 1999, Viv has taught Mathematics, Science and Information Technology to generations of Girtonians and she has supported countless LRC students, especially in Numeracy. Viv could often be found at the Schweppes stadium on a Friday night, with her substantial involvement in the Basketball co-curriculum. Viv is remembered with a deep respect for he...r teaching expertise and her patient, calm and gentle nature will be greatly missed. Our heartfelt sympathies are extended to John, Patrick and Katherine during this profoundly difficult time. Should any Old Girtonian wish to join the Service of Thanksgiving, it will be live-streamed at 10:30am on Friday 18th December via www.mulqueen.com.au/livestream

14.01.2022 Love Girton enough to come back? The School has some wonderful job opportunities for next year, and we would love to hear from any Old Girtonians with the relevant expertise and a passion for education. Many of the positions that are available have arisen from some significant retirements announced last week by our Acting Head, Dr Emma O’Rielly. To find out more about the retirements, read Dr O’Rielly’s most recent eLink column: https://newsletters.naavi.com/i/VJqovk5/issue-12/page/1
