22.01.2022 Naomi Velterop has been announced as a rising star in the culinary world of Perth! Last Monday night (09/11/20) she won the HGT Most Outstanding First Year Apprentice at the Hospitality Group Training Awards Night. We at Oggi are so proud to have her on your team. She has been working closely with our Amazing Head Chef Marianne Kempf and Chef Lyn Sadler learning all she can. Becoming an integral member of our team in the kitchen. Nominees included: Gianni Moretto from Pan Pacific Hotel Perth James Keogh from The Queens Hotel Josh Vears from Chapters Bistro Kris Newstead from Lakers Tavern Marianne Kempf from Oggi Bar & Eats Melissa Palinkas from Young George Natalie Ferreo from Creative Catering Peter Claeys from Herdsman Lake-Tavern The winner for 2020 was Melissa Palinkas from Young George for going above and beyond to ensure her apprentices are trained to the highest standards. Congratulations Melissa for your efforts . It also important to recognise all of the finalists that have invested their time and energy in training to allow the hospitality industry to thrive. A big thank you to ALH Group who sponsored this award and for their support throughout WA in promoting Apprentice Chefs and School Based Apprentices.
