25.01.2022 While there are no open meets happening we've been given the opportunity to run club days on different weekends so that people can race more than once a month. We have decided to run our July club day next Sunday the 12th of July and the day will be open to anyone with a Victorian licence. With the way the weekends fall this month it is a quick turnaround from the June club day but we think this is a great way to help the clubs out, see some good fields and get everyone out ...there doing what we all love - racing. We'd love to see our members go and support other clubs running their club days on a different weekend especially if you've never raced away from Oakleigh. The current COVID rules are obviously still in place, there will be a maximum of 20 karts per class, one parent/guardian/pit crew per kart and no spectators. Entries should open shortly but we'll let you know when they do.

24.01.2022 We're missing quite a few COVID forms and scrutineering forms, please fill these out ASAP if you haven't done so already. If you're racing in 2 classes we need a scrutineering form for both classes. Please remember that it is ONE pit crew per kart only and no spectators.

24.01.2022 Bookings are now open for the following practice sessions: Sunday 8am-12pm and 12:30pm-4:30pm Wednesday 4pm-8pm Friday 4pm-8pm For Sunday's sessions the 25km rule remains in place so if you're within the 25kms please try and book then so that those outside can get access during the week. 22.01.2022 Another year, another championship. Congratulations Oscar Piastri Racing on taking our the FIA Formula 3 Championship in your debut season. Oscar went into the final race tied on points with his team mate Logan Sargent but had an uphill battle starting 6 places further back in 11th. Unfortunately for Sargent he DNF'ed on the opening lap handing victory to Oscar.... On behalf of the whole club, well done and we can't wait to see you on the grid in Formula 2 next year.

22.01.2022 Oscar Piastri Racing has retaken the lead in the FIA Formula 3 Championship after a mega drive from 15th to 3rd in race one at Monza yesterday. Oscar has a narrow 8 point lead heading into the final round next weekend at Mugello. Best of luck, we're all hoping you can seal the deal and take home another championship.

22.01.2022 Evening everyone, entries for our final club day of the year are now open. The December club day will be on Sunday the 6th, we're expecting the 10 kart on track limit to have been lifted by then so hopefully we can get through the day a little quicker but more importantly we can get some great fields out on track and end off this pretty ordinary year on a high. We'll also be switching back to qualifying instead of random draw for all of you that have been missing that this year.

21.01.2022 Members, please keep an eye on your inboxes we will be sending further information on re-opening for practice later today. Right now though a little bit of news on club days for the rest of the year. We are keeping our fingers crossed that restrictions will be eased again this weekend and we can run an October club day, if this happens mark Saturday the 31st on your calendar for a return to racing.... November club day will be on the weekend of the 14tth and 15th and we will also be running a December club day on the weekend of the 5th and 6th. Hopefully this gives you all something to look forward to and maybe even gets the kids off your back for a few minutes

21.01.2022 Big thanks to everyone who came down and helped out at yesterday's working bee, we had a really good turnout. It was great to have enough people to not just do the regular mowing etc. but to get stuck into some long overdue maintenance jobs and some improvement projects. 11.01.2022 Hi everyone, we've got some great entry numbers for club day on Saturday but with the 10 kart on track limit we are currently going to have to run 14 classes. This has meant that we've been forced to close entries early for TaG 125 Light/Heavy, KA3 Senior Light and Vic Combined Light/Medium so that they do not go over the 10 kart limit as we just will not have time in the day to get through any more classes. Entries for 4SS Senior and all Junior/Cadet classes are still open b...ut the limit on numbers for those classes is 10 combined across the 3 4SS classes and 20 for each of the Junior/Cadet classes. We apologise to anyone who may miss out and hope to see you in December when the 10 kart limit should have been lifted.

11.01.2022 We've rescheduled the driver training sessions with Dave Sera that we had to cancel earlier in the year. We'll now be running them on January the 7th and 8th so if you're looking for a great Christmas gift or something to do with the kids over the school holiday's then book your spot now. They're also perfect to help find those extra 10ths right before Junior Top Guns. Sessions are $50 per person for 3 hours of training, groups are limited to 10 people only.... 08.01.2022 It seems like just a few days ago that we had the October club day and yet entries are already open for November. The November club day will be on Saturday the 14th and will have the same timetable as October, gates open at 7am and a practice session beginning at 8am. We are all hoping that the 25km limit is removed this weekend but if you enter and it is not we will obviously return your entry fee ASAP.... 05.01.2022 Well the good news after yesterday's announcements is that, as expected, the 10 kart limit has been removed so we can get some big fields all racing together at club day on the 6th so get your entries in now. We'll also remove the booking limits for the practice sessions so there won't be any issues with sessions being booked out. We will let you know closer to club day how we will be handling spectators but as we still require everyone to have filled out a COVID form and ha...ve a limit to the number of people on the property at once the gate won't be thrown open to everyone just yet. For practice sessions we will be limiting spectators to immediate family only, they must all book a ticket on Trybooking and complete COVID forms. Masks are still required indoors and when you may not be able to maintain 1.5m distance from others so please make sure to put one on before entering the canteen/toilets and when on the in/out grids. We will be having a working bee this Saturday from 9am to 12pm, we've got 4 months of maintenance to catch up on so we'd really appreciate it if you could lend a hand for a few hours. 03.01.2022 Well it looks like we are finally going to be able to go racing again While the news that the 25km limit will remain in place is not what we had hoped for and will mean that some of our members will miss out the overall news is really positive. We are waiting to get the full details of todays announcement and the final go-ahead from KA but assuming there is no hidden surprises in the law we will be running an October Club Day THIS SATURDAY. ... The committee has also made the decision that we will be abandoning the 2020 Club Championship, with the continued restrictions and uncertainty we decided that this was the best course of action. We want the rest of the club days this year to just focus on fun and getting back out there and catching up with all your karting mates you haven't seen in months. We will look and see if we can try out some different race formats etc to spice things up a bit as well.

02.01.2022 Members, yesterday's news wasn't exactly what we had hoped for but there is at least some light at the end of the tunnel and it looks like we should be able to get in a few club days to end off the year on a high. In terms of the next two weeks we are currently working with KA/KV to figure out what is and isn't allowed. As usual for the first day or two after the announcements there can be varying and sometimes contradictory information depending on where you look. Please be patient while we confirm exactly what we can do, we'll let you all know as soon as possible.

01.01.2022 In light of the announcement made this afternoon by the government we will unfortunately have to cancel this weekend's club day as well as the scheduled practice sessions and driver training sessions with Dave Sera. We have decided to cancel tomorrow's sessions as well, while disappointing we believe it's the responsible thing to do. The sooner we all lockdown the sooner we can get back out again. We will offer the driver training sessions again next school holiday's if the g...overnment rules at that time allow it, anyone with a current booking will be given first option to book the rescheduled sessions. We will process refunds for both club day and driver training sessions over the next few days.

01.01.2022 Thanks everyone for coming out today, it was great to finally see karts back out on track after so long. I hope you all had a great day, I know we did. Our next club day is in just 2 weeks on the weekend of the 14th followed by a December club day on the weekend of the 5th and we hope to see you all back for both. We'll have the exact details out next week. Eastern Lions Kart Club has also announced tentative dates for their club days which will be the weekend following both ...our November and December dates. It'd be great to see a big contingent of Oakleigh drivers head up the Hume to give them a run for their money. We'll also have bookings for Tuesday's practice sessions up tomorrow morning.
