25.01.2022 Compassion seems to be the buzz word lately ... putting yourself in someones shoes or in this instance ... putting yourself under a leash ... one thing for sure ... we are so much closer to people who means a lot to us ... now instead of getting a doggie bag (you are not an after thought anymore)... a walk in the park or eating together as family is something good out of this situation. If dogs are indeed our best, just imagine to the new friends we met through this period from our neighbor to our customers ... All is good ! Happy weekend ! 24.01.2022 In a chocolate shop, there are many secrets that are privy to men... Some guys come to our shop either to please or appease their partner. Guys who tend to forget are some of our most memorable, repeat customers and of course, they know exactly what chocolate their partner wants ! This was an order that I thought would fit this category.... He called to ask if we do home delivery! Then, he described to me what his partner wanted. Then, asked me to take a photo of ea...ch of the chocolate praline so he can choose which one his partner will love (umm... yes to that too). Then, followed by a detailed email confirming each chocolates he has selected and asked if its all available Then, asked me if I can write this note ! I was telling myself Oh BOY , hes in BIG trouble ! Then, I delivered the goods to a humble Eastern suburb address and left it on the porch. I told him that I thought I was sending this to your girlfriend! ... until I found two pair of young kids shoes.. He said weve been married for lots of years ..! And all the while I thought I was delivering for him a chocolate version of a free jail pass card!! 20.01.2022 It was Fathers Day Sunday.... so I had first delivery at Rose Bay at midday then I got 2.5 hours of time to burn.... so in my usual self, I drove at the end of the road and found myself at a small park overlooking the water (indeed you never get lost in Sydney... its either the bushland or the beach... ignore GPS ... just drive straight !). I have seen Hunger Games a few times and you know that scene where Katniss would try and hit the deer and she barely missed it? Well,... in reality, you would feel for this guy as he try to pop a stationary balloon 10 meters away and struggle! I was sitting on this grass and chuckling myself ! How could he miss ?! The trainer stopped everyone as the arrows were just flying over or under the target A young boy yelled and ask How do we aim ?! Everyone laughed at such simple questions... anyway, after a good hour (with my chocolate safely under a shade), I left for the final delivery. The scene of this shooting arrows (Archery) overlooking our beautiful Sydney shore was so beautiful and really reminded me of something.... life sometimes can takes something seemingly very simple and obvious and twists it for you! I could never imagine that I would be doing so much more home delivery (even time specific- please deliver at this time delivery ... ) than I ever imagined. We are a retail store... ..Sometimes I cant help to think how much of this effort will lead to... but always after every home delivery I make ...when I get to talk to people whom I deliver it to... see their expression of surprise and happiness when they receive them, its all worth the effort ! Life will never be the same again for us and we hope you feel the same too .... We will just keep shooting the target till we get somewhere and give ourselves a good laugh along side it (I have a fair share of this on my delivery stories) ! If we cant hit it at 10 meters, we will start at 2 meters ! Thank you so much again for all your love and support !

10.01.2022 OhBoo Blog (May 17 2020). I truly believe that the worst is past us. I cannot help but be philosophical with what has happened these past few months. This time last year, I met an amazing inspiring customer/salesperson who visited our shop. She was trying to sell me something that never worked out in the end but the lessons I learned from the short few meetings with her is worthy of a life coach! This Red shiny chocolates draws you in .. see the future not just cho...colate...... . With the horror of what happened to us (thank goodness we have the most understanding landlord), sales are down in the most horrific manner ...but we took an attitude of a raging bull... racing towards a Red waving flag (we literally ran towards it and not caring if there was a brick wall behind it ! ) When something so close that you love threatens to leave you, your fear disappears and you give everything of you and more ... and the result is our online sales shot up 500% from last year, still not enough but we call it a fighting chance And I get to go to the most amazing road with no traffic and minimal braking on the curve ! ... delivering to some great mansions and humble homes, getting attacked by one of the twin cats, interrupting someones zoom meeting (or worse someone I woke up from sleep... had to look the other way!) to delivering a $25 Easter Egg way past Port Kembla- 103 km away (one way)! It has paved way to our new business growth and potential and the future that it holds for us... (people even Afterpay us now! ) ... . all these thoughts brings me back looking at my shiny Alfa wheels (see a 1970 Alfa wheel in liquid paper white colour!) and I felt encouraged because despite all the road side curb I hit and even ran on an island delivering at Vauclaus last week, the wheels kept turning and always brings me to my destination. 09.01.2022 Collaboration: @lainieskitchen @OhBoo_ We are so excited to partner with Lainie kitchen. For us, she epitomize what we represent... embracing diversity, sharing love and passion for their craft with no limit... We feel that she could be an amazing ambassador for our brand ! Could ? Well.. read on... Since she makes such an amazing food presentation on Instagram, I hatched a plan... to know how good are they ??? So I proposed a meeting and since it was a busy day, I told ...her I can meet only at 3:00 pm but I would not have had lunch yet so I would be really hungry (it sounded like someone looking for a feed... but wanting to know if it’s beyond just pretty pics made me go for it ...) I have to say that there is no doubt, she made that dish alive and probably had the best rice-fish dish ever ! Just imagine, my sisters chocolate on a visual/tasting sensation but on a savory version ! It was hard to concentrate during the meeting while I eating (thinking about it now...it’s quite embarrassing!) but we eventually got a plan to create the most stunning chocolate box for the coming Jewish New Year! Make sure you write all these ingredients down for Chef Fanny to consider.. She reminded me after I asked for a glass of water ... haha! I did! The verdict ? We believe created something really special for the Jewish New Year chocolates .... How did it turn out ? The photo speaks for itself ! The flavour combinations created by the two culinary maestros are a combination of flavours from Apple, Manuka honey, to pomegranate molasses and burnt butter... We are so proud that we live in this most egalitarian/multicultural country in the world so that we are able to share these creations .... like a thread to a weaver or an ingredient in a recipe, it is the soul beyond these simple ingredients that creates something magical and beyond words ! We hope you feel the same way ... Yea, we are open to future collaborations with people of diverse background and expertise who share the same passion as we do! 08.01.2022 OhBoo Instablog (May8): My instruction from the young lady was simple. Can I have the chocolate delivered by Wednesday afternoon (before sunset ?) She was very specific with her chocolate so we even have to literally choose each chocolate for her Mothers Day box. Since, I finish work at 4 pm, I had to grab my car from home and deliver the chocolate to her in the Eastern Suburb (before sunset.. since the sun set quite early now.. I had to rush!..).... so off with my red Alf...a....After all these deliveries, I thought I have seen all types of porch. Again, I kinda ended up on the highest part of the area (no kidding!) ... Simple door bell... pressed it... opened the gate (this gate was 25% lighter than the one in my Manly delivery few weeks ago) ! Then, turned my head up and saw this steps leading to this house which looks like a multi layer wedding cake but no cream ... lol ...just big clear window glass... just imagine if you own a chocolate shop and you have to walk up and down on these step everyday! It would be a perfect fitness companion! Then, went up few more steps, then a young lady with a sweet and radiating smile opened the door and said Oh, thank you so much for bringing the chocolate box this afternoon .. and enjoy this bread I baked... Again, I really appreciate the effort. If you have to climb so many steps to this house, I wonder perhaps her kitchen could very well be bigger than our shop ! Nonetheless , such a nice gesture from our customer really made my day and definitely worth skipping a meal for this delivery ! Looking forward to more deliveries this Mothers Day Weekend! 03.01.2022 Oh boo blog (July 24 2020): Sneaking out requires a lot of effort, skills and luck... but not when you work in Barangaroo... when literally at your backyard, you can squeeze a meeting /(or a date) in between work and still get back to work on time looking really focused ! But with whats happening now, things have changed a bit, lots of our customers who works in the tower ends up sneaking back to their office and they come to see us for a longer chat (besides stocking choc...olates) and for all the conversation.... it does not matter how amazing/well adjusted they are working from home ... they miss Barangaroo so much and like someone who catches your breath at first sight, it is too hard to be too far from her...Photo: On one on of my lunch escapade, I took this photo not knowing that in less than a years time .... 03.01.2022 Oh boo Delivery Instablog (May 22 2020): Delivering chocolates can be so straight forward that sometimes youd easily miss the delivery point. ... as was in this case ....Instruction was straight forward... I would be expecting a gate, a doorbell then someone opens the door then the goods (chocolates) are exchanged. I walked around the house looking for the doorbell .. (in America apparently, you dont do this without wearing any company uniform... you would be risking your... life for it) .. .then saw a few motorcycle parked there (I am not delivering to a person who does Ubereats delivery right or worse ? ...) then had a look again for any door bell to press ! None ! The door had steel rails with chains, windows were closed shut and when I walked across ... I got a few spider web running over my face ! Omg ! No one lives here ! I panicked and called the customer and said I am here .. there are bikes here, doors are on chains and I got faced attacked by spiderwebs.. she replied sorry about that...have you checked the side door.. Then, I saw this seemingly plain looking gate (no handle) pushed it then.. shit! I should have known ! There I found the doorbell and out came the husband with the biggest surprised smile knowing its a special birthday gift from his lovely wife of many years ! And for me, next time, I just need to walk straight to a door (or doors) and stop my imagination getting to ahead of me ! For that, I blame Netflix for it (Narco movies!) and this lockdown !
