24.01.2022 Last week the children enjoyed having their faces painted thanks to the artistic flair of our educator Breanna who patiently accommodated their requests. Children were practising expressing their ideas and communicating instructions and then proudly showing off their new faces.

24.01.2022 Oh for the love of books and dress-ups! There was a wonderful array of costumes on display at our Centre throughout the Book Week. It shows just how much children enjoy reading books and impersonating their favourite characters. Books stimulate the imagination, expand vocabulary and speech patterns, improve concentration and are a vital building block in literacy.

23.01.2022 We have new plants at our Centre and our children are keen to water them and learn how to help them grow tall and healthy. This lead to learning about sustainability by being mindful of how much water we use and why it is important not to waste it. We also discussed why we need trees and planned how we will water and look after ours each day.
21.01.2022 This week in the nursery room babies participated in Cultural Awareness and Remembrance Day painting activities. 21.01.2022 We marked the Dental Health Week, an Australian Dental Association's major annual oral health promotion campaign, with a visit from a Tooth Fairy from the locally based Fresh Dental Care centre. This visit aimed to educate children about the importance of maintaining good oral health. Children were attentive as the Dentist used a prop to demonstrate the three different techniques of brushing teeth and gums. They engaged in discussion on which food is good for your teeth and the food to try to avoid. But most of all, they loved dressing up as Dentists and patients and looked forward to the 'ride on the chair' at their next visit to the dentist.

15.01.2022 Today in the preschool room the children have been enjoying making their own masks and props for our own Preschool Photo Booth. The children have been keenly watching the photographer in the yard taking photos of some of our friends and wanted to have their own turn taking photos and posing in front of the camera.
14.01.2022 The children in the toddler room showed enthusiasm in the craft activity designed to broaden their sensory knowledge through exploring different textures such as the little flat sequins, pom poms and sticky glue. They showed interest in the sequins turning them over, pinching them between their fingers and sticking them down with glue, one by one and in big piles. They held the pom-poms, rubbed them on their cheeks, rolled them on the table and pushed them into the glue. Art and craft activities also expand children's focus and build their confidence.
