18.01.2022 Last week we welcomed our new General Manager, Jennifer Morison, to our Ohana family. Jen has joined us from Melbourne after a long serious recruitment process ...with over 203 applicants, a process we started late last year. Jen has more than two decades of experience across the Early Childhood sector, starting her career as a teacher, then moving into roles such as centre manager, area leader, pedagogical leader, and business consultant across private and local government sectors. Jen is passionate about the care and education of children and the partnership with our families and the local community. Jen has a strong belief in building staff capacity and supporting Educators in achieving the goal of attaining exceeding ratings across all our centres, including our newly opened Woolgoolga centre. Jen initial focus will be on getting to know our entire team and their strengths and opportunities, moving onto the Walker Learning program in supporting our preschool and transition to school programs in supporting the overall management and operations of our centres.

16.01.2022 Starting 2021 in the right way! Our educators commenced their professional development on Saturday with everyone undertaking their recertification for CPR & Fir...e Training and for those that needed the three year retraining in First Aid for the Childcare Environment. Our thanks to our educators who gladly provided their time whilst Ohana provides the annual recertification training. It's a win-win for all our families. See more

09.01.2022 Children have been exploring and learning about the life cycle of a frog through illustrations, observation and discussions. Understanding the natural occurring phenomena in nature is important for children to help them connect with, respect and care for the living things around them. This experience has provided children with opportunities for conversation about hearing frogs croak at home, how they have seen tadpoles in puddles and seeing frogs in the garden. Observing and discussing the life cycle of a frog promotes language development by introducing scientific concepts and vocabulary, maths and allowing children to experience and observe the changes that occur as living things grow.
