20.01.2022 Thanks Compact Digger Hire for the hire of your KANGA. Has made building pig yards much easier. Had many "pig" inspectors and helpers today, checking how deep the holes were and all approved.

17.01.2022 Look who is back from the farm. Little LONNIE, who is not so little anymore. We missed you gorgeous boy.

17.01.2022 This rascal hadn't been seen for over 2 months and was such a homebody cat.... She reappeared this week after we were convinced she must have died. We are so pleased MARLIE is back home where she belongs. She was so missed. We would love to know what she had been up to.

16.01.2022 Introducing you to OHANA SOUTHDOWN BABYDOLLS..... Are they not the most adorable things EVER? We are so excited for them to join us. We picked them up on the we...ekend. 14 little girls (3rd & 4th cross) and 3 wethers. The "Babydoll" at 1 year old is between 43cm and below 61cm. They are a short legged animal and known for their teddy bear-shaped face and for their 'smile'. They produce a 19-22 micron wool that is highly barbed, ideal for blending with other fibres. They are perfect pets and fantastic lawn mowers kept in orchards and vineyards to eat below the fruits and tree line. They will be S names..... I can see SUSIE, SALLY, SHARON, SONIA, SUMMER, SAVANNAH, SARINA, SANDY, SIMONE, STELLA, SADIE, SOPHIE, SHELBY, SASHA oh so cute and oh so quiet See more

16.01.2022 We are very pleased to offer and donate 1st prize in the Attunga Public School P&C Annual Christmas Raffle. A weekend family farm stay for 6 with us in the OHAN...A LODGE Cottage. COVID19 has impacted their usual fundraising means and they are very mindful of the impact it has had on everyone in the Community, so have not specifically asked businesses for help this year knowing everyone has done it tough. However, we really appreciate the small little schools in our district and the extra work they need to do to keep going and their humble gracious consideration to everyone. So it isn't fair they miss out on doing something, which is why we are doing our little bit to help them. It is so important they remain open and not merged into super schools which in turn looses part of communities and towns. This little school is everything OHANA is. "Ohana is family, and family means nobody is forgotten or left behind". (Disney Lilo & Stitch film 2002) If you would like to help this little School Family please contact P&C committee member Jess at Rimac Pest & Building Inspections or call 0427851347 for tickets. We wish them all the best with their raffle and look forward to hosting the Winner. See more

14.01.2022 Run Forrest. Run

11.01.2022 So we have 7 live little Goslings. 1 looks to have died not long out of shell and still at mum side sitting in nest and she is still 9n more eggs. We have put dad and bubs in a safe cage till they get bigger and less likely to get taken by a crow. He is our Sebastapol goose (the curly feathers) and is doing a brilliant job with them. They are so darn cute. Unsure of sexes. I have called one Ryan. Hudson has named one Gerald. Will has named one Tommy Turbo. Do you get mine? Ryan. Ryan Gosling.

11.01.2022 A swarm of bees visited today x

09.01.2022 This duck and chook have been sitting together on a nest on the hay shed for what seemed like forever. They have a great relationship. Both sit and then one will go for a drink and a quick feed while the other stays on the shared nest and then they swap over. Seems to have worked a treat. Mumma duck was very snappy towards me when I walked up to check on them as she was on the grass feeding. Turns out she has good reason to be extra protective. Busy night for her with 2 ducklings hatching. Lucky she has a built in babysitter there.

06.01.2022 How adorable are sisters Snugglepot (grey rabbit saying her prayers) and Cuddlepie (the little dark & white) with Rodger our big white RSPCA rescue?

03.01.2022 We are very humbled and gracious (and shocked we were thought of) to have been asked today to host a Year 10 Student with his Work Experience Week as part of his School Career Development incorporating both Agriculture and Hospitality and the junction of the two with our Farm Stays. We considered ourselves prior to this as just little folk plodding along, but when doing some paperwork for him there was a little bit he may learn and we maybe able to expose him to a few things... like: Accommodation/Farm Stay with OHANA LODGE may include: Cleaning and maintenance of Cottage. Attending to Lawns and Garden care. Cleaning of exterior and hosing premises. Cleaning of Guest facilities and preparing for Guest arrival. Quality control and presentation and ensuring WHS for Guests is adhered to and COVID19 requirements met and completed. Assist in Pool maintenance. Farm tasks through Ohana Pigs may include, learning to fence or maintain, repair of fencing. Learning how to strain and instal farm fencing new and old, barb, electric and plain wire as well as netting and ring lock. Learning to tie standard farm figure 8 knots to ensure strong and secure fence lines with fence strainers as well as ratchet ends. Learning to construct and install an end stay assembly on a fence line. Cementing and preparing holes etc. Installing farm gates and hinges, latches etc. Learn how to plumb water troughs and pipes with fittings, floats, etc Assisting in feeding range of farm animals, poultry (chickens, roosters, ducks, geese, turkeys, guinea fowl) and worming animals. Thanks for the contact today., It put a little spring in our step thinking someone thought so highly of us to ask and we are more than happy to assist if we can and if we met the standards of the Work Experience Placement.

01.01.2022 Very sad today to say goodbye to Rodney our Ram, Mary our Sheep and Dolly her lamb. I had to put my big girl pants on today and make the right decision and part ways with them. We had them sold three times to people on FB and Gumtree we held and held and held but at the last second people pulled out again and again and again.... so Saleyard it was. They bought me much joy and I truly was holding tears back parting with my boy Rodney. He was the quietest sweetest boy I've ever seen in a sheep. We have the Babydolls to concentrate on and unfortunately 3 extra beasts eating their grass takes a hit on the paddocks. My last scratch with Rodney.... look at your gorgeous dirty lanolin. My last scratch. I'll smell you for a week. xxxx

01.01.2022 So this is us at Ohana Pigs. We thought we should introduce ourselves, considering we have introduced a few of the pigs but not us. So here we go. We are Willia...m, Troy, Kate and Hudson. We are very new to this Pig Farming stuff but keen to get in and have a go. We are probably crazy for starting a new farming venture in the middle of a Global Pandemic (COVID19) with so much unpredictability and uncertainty having just come out of awful drought and we were impacted by bushfires. COVID19 hit us with our little AirBnB OHANA LODGE as well and we have had some health issues, but we are plodding along and having a go. The farm is at Walcha NSW where Troy has farmed for over 2 decades as well as maintaining a full time job. There he has Beef Cattle (Black/Red Angus, Shorthorn, Charolais Crosses) and Dorper Sheep. Troy came from the Manning Valley and moved over in 2018 where our little Family became 4. Kate came from the Tamworth Region and worked away for some time and returned back to the area. We live in Hallsville near Tamworth where the boys were born and go to school.

01.01.2022 We want to assure you that our admiration, love, respect and intentions with offering free stays to ADF is not a recent or one off thing. As you can see we have for over 3 years publically on FB, encouraged and shared defence welfare as an absolute priority. This isn't a publicity stunt or using the defence report for any other purpose than ensuring ADF past and present know we care and are available if needed. We wear our heart on our sleeves. Literally, with a tattoo to rem...ember a fallen soldier mate who sadly succumbed to the war that followed him home. We drive around with our back window on our car stickered Thanking them and have banners at our front gate. We are legit. We do care, so we hope we can ease any concerns anyone may have about us having a motive or why? Our motive is to THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE, attempt to PREVENT FURTHER SUICIDES and for all ADF to know their efforts are valued by a little family of 4 in NW NSW. xxxx See more
