24.01.2022 Todays excursion with the children took us to the local Yugambeh Museum where the children where treated to the story telling of Night Bird Dreaming. This included a live performance from a grandchild from one of the local tribes. He brought to life the story of the wise owl, Karang, and the sneaky night bird, Jinir-Jinir. The moral of the story was why we mustnt take from others or tell others secrets. The children also learnt a Yugambeh song which was sung in the local language and were given the opportunity to dance, sing and use boomerangs as clapping sticks. A great morning was had by all and the Museum was very informative.

09.01.2022 Today we extended on our sand sculpture learning by having a discussion about what we find at the beach. The girls didnt want to build sand sculptures today, instead worked together as a team to complete a puzzle, and have a discussion about the animals we find at the beach, what we do and what we can find at the beach. I wrote the answers down for them and they came up with some great suggestions. In the sensory box we practiced using our fine motor skills with tongs for letter recognition in making our names.
