24.01.2022 Do you ever sit in a room full of people about to learn/teach/do something and feel like you just don’t belong? I do, every single weekend!......... BUT! -... But today I was joined by a hugely diverse incredible bunch of women from all walks of life with different levels of creativity, humour and knitting knowledge, and although it was hectic at times I have never felt like I belonged more. With diversity comes, great conversations, misunderstandings and beautiful resolutions, laughs, new friends and a whole heap of new learnings for myself. I learn new ways to manage my thoughts, I learn new ways to teach my method, I practice patience while trying to teach it and I learn more and more at every workshop that I’m the luckiest women in the world to get the chance to meet such kind , caring, interesting, STRONG beautiful women. As I say I am not close to being even a teachers butthole but gosh I love having a go and my respect grows that little bit more for my teachers in my past as each workshop goes by. 12.01.2022 The first step towards happiness is............ acceptance! Acceptance of our own being. - Shit will ALWAYS happen. I find myself in that ole shituation we hear of a bit....... Up shit creek without a paddle I’ve been up that shit creek a time or ten and one thing I’ve learnt is, even though you feel you don’t have a paddle to keep moving forward , you can float! wait there’s MORE....... Like any situation your in , just like a creek even a shitty one ,there is a current, a current that will take you to the end (an out), a dam, an ocean ,a big belly of space to grow and flourish. It’s all about learning to accept and understand where you are and why (that’s the floating) and growing through the journey of the situation your in (that’s the current) and finding your way , the new refreshed you once you get to the end of that shitty ole creek , floating gracefully, accepting you, accepting time & accepting space! 07.01.2022 As I sit here in my hotel room in Sydney these past few days , I’ve spent some time reminiscing on all the incredible people I’ve had the absolute privilege of meeting, all the warm and stunning places/homes I’ve had the privilege of being welcomed in to and the STORIES, oh my gosh , the stories of life and love, loss, growth and everything In between! My last workshop to round 2020 off as my water ski season starts to kick off was all of that and the rest! 02.01.2022 I had this weekend booked to have off for the past 9 weeks and what a weekend it is. The sun is out and the grass needed mowing, I chucked on my R.M.Williams stockyard workshirt a pair of old Wrangler ‘s , my Blundstone Australia boots and tackled this jungle of ours. (All the tags ) One thing I was terrified of after my accident was that I wouldn’t be able to do a lot of the things that I love like yard work , thankfully once my strength and balance increased I adapted a...nd am able to scoot about our yard with my dog on this big rig pumpin my tunes and occasionally crashing into fences because well.... there’s no power steering here and after 3 hours on the mower my good arm isn’t too good for much. The point of my story........ if you buy one thing, let it be a good stylish work shirt, always wear sun cream & get out and have a crack even if you have a hiccup along the way at least you know you’ve tried! the added bonus is the smell of freshly cut grass.
