24.01.2022 One of the the best things about being a trainer is seeing people change. Not just physically, but the growth in confidence and general mind shift that happens is what is so amazing to watch!

24.01.2022 This morning I woke up feeling pretty average. My morning wasnt very productive but something I did get done was the gym class I booked into yesterday. - We all know that exercise is great for our physical health and can prevent us from developing many diseases. But what we often forget is that its so good for our mental health. 30 minutes a day can help with:... Stress levels Your mood Memory Concentration Sleep - So now that I am feeling energised and generally much better, I am hoping to have a much more productive afternoon. - Do you exercise as part of your daily routine? #consistency #exercise #mentalhealth #pt #mummypt #goals #fitness #health #strength #cardio #weights #running #fitmum #happymumhappychild #happymumhappybaby #healthylifestyle #emotionalsupport #oilymum #sydneymum #sydneypt

23.01.2022 Everyone starts at the beginning! This is what I wanted to say to the woman at the gym today that felt as though she struggled through the boxing class. (Seriously I didnt even notice. I was there to workout. Not judge others on their effort and ability). When I asked her; Is this your first session? She was embarrassed and said yes, can you tell? Pointing to her very red face.... I didnt have a chance to say much more than... No, you did great. But what I wanted to say was, everyone starts at the beginning. So next time you walk into a class or the gym and feel self conscious. Remember, we all had a first time. Comparison is so harmful and it steals our JOY! Dont look around at others at the gym and compare yourself. Be proud of yourself for going and celebrate your achievements! See more

19.01.2022 This photo was taken a lunch time... I love watching my step count go up throughout the day. I know, its not that exciting to most. But in my head its an achievement, be it small. One thing I do as part of my self care is to get up early and move. I honestly can say, that getting up 30 minutes earlier (4.30am) doesnt make me any more exhausted at 3pm than if I had slept for 30 minutes longer. But what I do know is, mentally I feel better! The mornings are quiet, the world i...s quiet. I can hear myself breath and think. It sets me up for a calmer, more productive morning. I get less frustrated with the kids, I am more motivated to get work done and I love knowing that my workout has already been done. Will you be setting the alarm a little early and getting up to see the sun rise?
17.01.2022 Zoom Boot Camp!
15.01.2022 Have a spare 30-40 minutes? That is enough time to get moving! Dont let time be the excuse that you dont train... Feel free to ask questions if your unsure pf something. Remember to warm up, hydrate and stretch... Bel
15.01.2022 Stretching is probably one of the most overlooked components of exercise. Often rushed and deemed as not necessary, just an added extra... Here are six reasons not to overlook stretching... Next time your trainer starts taking you through your stretches at the end of your session. Pay attention, take your time. Listen to your body and give it what it needs.... Note: If you are stretching before a session or doing a separate stretch session. It is impotent, to warm your body up first with some gentle movement...

11.01.2022 I know I talk a lot about trying to live a low tox life. To be honest I still have a lot to learn. It can be really overwhelming when you start looking into it. A really good place to start is @lowtoxlife book. Its not only informative but gives really easy solutions. My advice is not to try and do everything all at once. Start with one or two things and gradually change out a new thing, weekly, fortnightly or monthly. Before you know it, you will have changed your produ...cts out and started shopping differently. You will be so all over it, you will wonder why you ever thought it was so hard. #lowtoxlife #healthylifestyle #sydneymum #mummypt #healthgoals #toxins #knowwhatyouareeating #fragrance #essentialoils #younglivingessentialoils #oilypt #oilymumma #oilmum #oilymom #fitmum #fitfam
11.01.2022 I am the gate keeper! I am the mum, I decide what we eat in our house. I have often felt the weight of this responsibility/privilege, it can be a tough gig feeding children and feeding teenagers is pretty similar to feeding toddlers . I am often asked as a PT, how do I get my kids to eat healthy. Below are some of my tips: 1. Lead by example, if your starting a new lifestyle as a family. Start with yourself first. Get your head around how things will work.... 2. Introduce a few new things at a time. Switch one or two things per week. Mix it up... prepare a meal the old way, with some of the new. 3. Dont ague! Be firm, give options. But dont give in to demands. 4. Remember kids are kids, sometimes they like simpler foods, prepare the same food but in a kid version and a adult version. 5. Keep offering it, kids need to see and eat something at least 10 times. 6. We dont all have the same taste buds, dont force feed.. I know, I just contradicted myself. 7. Involve the kids in the menu planning, shopping, sorting and cooking. Planning is key to be successful. 8. Research, look at what different foods do for you nutritionally. Talk about it with the family. 9. Plan a family night where you break the rules and order or cook something they have been asking for. Introduce the concept of sometimes food. 10. Dont buy it! If its not in the house you/they cant eat it. You either need to make an effort to go get it or eat what you have. 11. Make them bake it. If you feel like cake, bake it. It will really open their eyes to the amount of sugar that they consume. 12. You are the gate keeper! Picture tsken by me: @leslie__burris brownies that I baked for the girls afternoon tea today.

10.01.2022 I have a confession to make... I am so bad at finishing self help/business books. So bad, these are just a few of my favourites. Not to mention all the ones I have on audible. Sometimes I buy the book and the audio book, because.... why not? Still, I fail to complete my mission to finish the book and becoming the successful entropnenur I know I can be! As life gradually slows down and I find I have moments where I can just sit and read. I have made it my mission to finish the... last few chapters of @emmaisaacs, Winging It, @lindsayteague, Boss Up and @msrachelhollis, Girl Wash Your Face... I loved the first few chapters and I am sure will love the rest! What books/projects are you going to complete during this time? Where the world as you know it, isnt quite the same... #stayathomemom #sahm #mumlife #mumofteens #mumgoals #mummypt #bossbabe #gaols #healthylifestyle #younglivingessentialoils #oils #bossbabemum #fitness #health #workingmum #opportunity #read #bossup #girlwashyourface #wingingit #covid_19 #isolation

09.01.2022 What a time we are living... its like nothing many of us have experienced before. It is also magnified by the fact that we have access to so much information. We know (or so we think) what is happening all over the world. We are able to read the opinions of many and this can be confusing. Dont let yourself get overwhelmed by the information overload. Be informed, stand in what you believe is right and be open to what others say.... Take this moment, to love on those around you. Really be present. Enjoy your people. Make connections with people you have not spoken to in a long time. Write a letter, pick up the phone. Make it your mission to bring JOY to others! For some encouragement and joy in your feed, follow these lovelies below. @all_for_mygirls @thegingerscript @janinemrichards @jessicadonar @mama_tyger @lindseyg_smith @theoilymamaessentials

07.01.2022 I have been a little quiet on this page for a while... I am about to change this in the next few weeks. So watch this space. As some of you know I have been working on a second business and passion. This business is an extension of my lifestyle change that started 9 years ago, when I decided to make health and fitness a priority in my life. Head over to The Oily PT and to check out what I have been up to. Bel

06.01.2022 I am Belinda Salan, Im 40, I found my tribe and I have a cup! We were all in the car the other day and Miss 14 says; Remember when we thought Mums oil thing was just a phase? But we know its not now, because she has a Young Living cup! Now, Im sitting there and thinking... WHAT! Okay, I get you all thinking it may have just been a new hobby/phase. But I stuck at it and you know this, because I have a CUP? What about the diffuser in every room, all the oils, the clean-ou...t of the medicine cupboard (because for most things there is an oil), the personal product switch, the cleaning product switch! What about all of that! Then I realised, it was this mug she was talking about. My The Kitchen Table mug. The Kitchen Table is my Young Living oil group. Its my second business. The place that I invite anyone who uses my enrolment number to order their starter kit. We ask questions, learn and get to know each other. It really is a fun community to be a part of. Anyway, back to the not a PHASE... why didnt this just become another phase? I had a need, I was looking for some natural alternatives to support my daughter. I was supported. Placed in a few Facebook groups, where I could learn, ask questions and make friends. Because OILS work! Yes, these little bottles of plant power work! I was able to make a business out of it. Yep, it started with just wanting to have my oils and products paid for. But now, I can see a path to FREEDOM, financial freedom. Out of all of the above. I would have to say, it is the friendships that I have formed that have been the best. Who would have thought that you would get to almost 40 and finally find your tribe!
06.01.2022 As a PT, I quite often find myself talking with clients about food. Everyone wants to know, what to eat? Fair enough, right? As we all know, that eating a clean, fresh, nutritious diet, is key. Exercise without it, is like trying to run a car on the wrong fuel. It just wont work, or if by some chance it does... it will eventually just stop! Our bodies are the same. They will only become stronger and fitter, if we give them the correct fuel. When discussing options and makin...g some suggestions on what breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks should look like. I am often told, but I just dont like eating vegetables and salad. They are bland and boring . Yes, probably. Due to the fact, that connivance food (both supermarket and fast food) are full of sugar, salt and artificial flavours etc. Your taste buds are conditioned to expect that assault of flavour every time you eat. Hence, other healthier and better for you foods being labeled as bland, boring and gross! What can we do? Make slow changes, slowly decrease the amount of convenience foods. Use less salt, sugar and sauce in cooking. And start exploring new foods. Look up how best to cook your new purchases. Head out somewhere nice and order some beautiful side vegetables. Have a good experience with them. Learn how to make your old meals with better for you options. Lean how to make your normal packet food from scratch! Use a meal delivery service to help give you ideas on how to make delicious healthy meals. Start using herbs and spices to flavour your meals. Not sauces, salt and sugar and pre packet flavour mixes. Above are just a few ideas, it will take time but slowly you will start to notice that broccoli has its very own taste and its good! 10 years ago, I would brag about how I could make a whole meal using packet foods. So if I can change, you can too.
04.01.2022 Not another New Years post! Each year the New Year rolls around and then come all the reflections (not a bad thing to do). The New Years resolutions and goals. What do you want out of this year, what are your goals, what is your word for the year and dont forget to make a budget and stick to it....This year we are going to do all things right! This goes on for a few days, and dont get me wrong. I love goal setting! I have a vision board and I will be reflecting on the past... year and thinking about the year to come. What I am saying is Dont to wait until January 1st to do this. You can do it any time. Guess what? Should things not be going the way you set out, you can sit down, re think and do it all over again! By all means. Set your 2020 goals! Make a budget and work daily towards the goals you have set. Know also that you are the author of those goals and vision and if you feel pulled/led in a different direction, or things are not what you thought they would be. You can change it. As long as you keep moving forward, dont stop and do nothing, you havent failed. Re group, re set and move forward. Be consistent! Some goal setting strategies that I follow SMART Specific - rather than say save money this year. How much? Measurable - what amount? Attainable - is your goal realistic? Relevant - Is your goal relevant to your life, your business/career etc.. Time - Set a time frame, I like to set little goals to lead up to. The big goal. Then I can check in on a regular basis to see how I am going and celebrate wins along the way.
