23.01.2022 On Sundays my Dad held my hand and walked me down to the Corner Shop. There, we would buy the Sunday newspaper, a loaf of Vegetable Bread, some times a Ginger bread man and sometimes even a small 15 cent bottle of sherbet. The bottle was opaque and its colour misleading. I never knew which flavour was inside. It was always an exciting surprise. What ever flavour it was, the sandy fizzy sherbet was always pastel and soft in tone. And there began my love of pastels. As an adult those small memories of walking to the corner shop with my Dad are some of my fondest. _______________ A pretty bouq for Jennie

21.01.2022 Sunflowers are gigantic. I recall distinct moments throughout my childhood when reality shocked me. My top reality strikes moments would have to be: learning how tall and gigantic sunflowers really are, that Emperor penguins are actually over a metre tall, sponges are animals and are the oldest animals on earth, and that unlike dragons, which are mythical, dinosaurs were not mythical. They were real and they walked on Earth. 21.01.2022 Check out Beccs and Matts bridal party photographed artfully by Translucent Photography. I was so lucky and excited when Becc essentially said to surprise her with something unique for her florals. She knew the bridesmaids would sport mustard and that her gown would be a sleek beauty. A surprise is always exciting and I was thrilled to have the chance to trial my now favourite bridal floral inspiration: Australian landscapes. From the dry tones of our Summers to soft purpl...e hues of our sunsets... the bright orange pops of our desert sand, the unreal concrete grey of our beach sands, the calming blues of our waters, and the lush green of our rainforests, it really is one of my favourites! 21.01.2022 Preschool days saw my mothers jewellery box overflowing with pasta and macaroni necklaces. Each piece was carefully threaded to a string with the unique oxymoronic combination of complete concentration and reckless abandonment mastered by a 4 year old. 19.01.2022 Teneriffe Woolstores used to have a distinct 'farm smell' when I was small. My mum would pop me in a lightweight stroller and we would explore the then 'Paddy's Markets' buying discount fabrics to stitch all sorts of pretty frocks and fun shirts and shorts. At the market my mum bought me a pair of little white sandals that I crushed on intensely. I called these my 'Paddy shoes'. 17.01.2022 Beccs vision for her special day was for something unique, coordinated with mustards, navy and foliage. This cake by Cake That! paired with a bespoke Peridot Pretty fresh floral cake arch combined pincushions, ferns, magnolia leaves, seaholly and Menta Colombians for a unique twist. Photographer Lucy from Translucent Photography captured the whole day in class and style, pouring her heart into every shot and captured moment. One of my favourites!

16.01.2022 Flowers can be beautiful, but they are only around for a fleeting moment. I do wonder if this is what makes us gasp at and cherish cut and arranged flowers - their short moment of beauty. As I hold my baby I think about the fleeting moments of life and a time when I was small enough to sit on the kitchen bench and drink a cold glass of milk poured for me by my grandma mamma, a milk moustache adorning my face as I smile at her as though she is my sun in the sky... A glass p...oured lovingly just like the lifetime of small acts of kindness she afforded me. I remember the softness of her hands, the way she sniffed my neck as she kissed me on the cheek... And I think, yes - it is for their fleeting moment that the flower brings us joy. Because memories last forever, and the Moment... we always have the moment. 14.01.2022 Sweet, young Molly had the support, advocacy and love of her mum throughout the process of her organising her photo shoot with the talented Maddie Jane Photography . Its so heartwarming to see and know of the incomparable love and support of a mother. As my bump grows and starts to wiggle about a bit more each day, the more excited I feel to even think about holding my baby, then one day holding their hand, then smiling and watching as they lead their life growing into the person they want to be. 01.01.2022 A little moody and a little spooky... I never got dressed up for Halloween but I do recall going ALL OUT for Book Week costumes! My favourite costume was Puss in Boots. I recall staying in character all day. Two people I will never forget are the librarians of my primary school library. They brought the books and the library alive and turned it into a haven for everyone, a place where your imagine could run wild. Mrs Teasdale passed away when I was still in primary school. Mr... Lines was the next librarian and he was just as amazing as Mrs Teasdale. I still remember all the ways he decorated the library with the release of new books. Kids LOVED the library. He once turned it into Diagon Alley. I love teachers / librarian who imprint on your heart through happy memories of learning through fun.
