15.01.2022 We seeing kids learning about how things grow and work! We also this picture of brother and sister working together, using our seed kits and growing their food. These kits are so simple (not just for kids!) and a great way to start growing some of your own food. You can see the results in the pictures below, sprouting within a week so you can feel some accomplishment and excitement very quickly They come with everything you need to start growing food and make a lovely ...gift for any age. There are 6 different options - Beginners, Balcony, Kids, Edible Flowers, Beneficial Bugs and Culinary Herbs (Warning: the herb kit comes with Coriander ) Anyone else think Coriander is the WORST taste EVER? Keep following us as we have plans to add more plant/seed/sprouting options to our range. More fun things coming soon! P.S - these kits are PERFECT for those who think they can't grow anything. Give them a try and there may start to be a tinge of green coming through on your thumb ;)

14.01.2022 Some very important info for people using our ceramic foamers! EDIT: The foaming mesh can also get blocked up. So try giving it a clean if it isn't foaming properly.

12.01.2022 We want to take a moment to say thank you. Thank you to each of you who has supported us whether through kind and encouraging words, telling people about our business, buying from our business, making suggestions for our business or working alongside us. Each of those contributions are so very important. Back in May last year when we took over Oils for Life, we had a big vision and we have slowly been working at bringing everything together for this vision.... Can we be 100% truthful and tell you that the support and success of our business has exceeded what we thought possible and has been at times overwhelming, challenging and so much fun. Our vision has become much clearer and we have been working with some very talented people to help bring that vision in line for everyone. We want to do our bit and help make a change in the world. We want to help as many families as possible take steps to lead a healthier, more natural life to the full. We know that doing this together is going to be more successful and enjoyable for all of us. We couldn't do what we want to do without your support and encouragement, so THANK YOU for being a major part in the success of our business. Stay tuned for some exciting changes in the not too distant future. Brad and Reeda - your partners in the journey of living a natural life.

10.01.2022 Want to know why we are careful with what we use on our bodies? Because what you use on your body is absorbed into your body and can cause serious issues. Constant use of them can be really bad and even worse for babies and children with their smaller bodies. We are currently on holiday and I had a look at the toiletries on offer in our cabin. They looked really nice and have some "green" and "non toxic" type words that could lead you to think they are a good option. ... With Coconut Extract and the "Scent of Tahitian Breeze" "Designed in Australia" in big font, but made in China further down. Cruelty Free CDEA Free (Cocamide DEA) Paraben Free Carbon Neutral Environmentally Responsible Product Kudos name implies you have made a good choice for using this product - Kudos to you! All these sound great don't they! BUT - when you read the ingredients you see just what a cocktail of chemicals these products are. Majority of these ingredients are bad for you, just look at the info from the Chemical Maze App in the images. There are a couple of ingredients that are actually safe in these 4 bottles. It may be ok to use products like this on occasion when desperate, but be aware of what you are putting on your skin. Our preference is to either make our own options or use way safer products and bring them with us on holidays. If you don't have space for larger containers, decant into smaller travel sized ones. We bring our own hand wash, shampoo, body wash, dishwashing liquid and dishwasher tablets when we go on holidays. Don't think this only happens on the free travel products! Please read the labels on your everday products and learn what is in them. Make informed decisions and do not trust the marketing/packaging companies try and distract you with. After looking at the ingredients, would you use these products?

09.01.2022 I played volleyball for the first time in more than a year last night. It was lots of fun, but apart from highlighting how unfit I am right now I have discovered aches in places through my body that need a little relief. Often I will just grab an oil or 2, put some carrier oil straight on my skin and apply a drop of each oil one at a time. Layering is a great way to help address individual symptoms by allowing each oil to work on it's own. However, for ease of application I... like to have roller blends made that will allow me to carry them with me through the day and apply regulalry. This morning I am making up something to help with my sore shoulder which is feeling it after I tried to show off multiple times spiking the ball . Don't worry, I looked good most of the time . I have chosen these oils after having a look through a number of my reference books and finding oils to help ease my issues. Lemongrass can help support swollen and painful joints, muscles and tendons. Peppermint has menthol in it which can help provide cooling relief to aching muscles. Marjoram is relaxing for tight muscles and can also help ease pain. Copaiba helps ease aching and sore muscles. Frankincense is known to help a body in pain. Plus it helps give the other oils a bit of a boost. As this is an accute issue that will hopefully find relief quickly, I will use around 5-6 drops of each oil in my 10ml bottle. If it was a blend to help for longer term use I would use less drops (around 10 drops total for a 10ml roller). We always recommend using less drops when you make a roller as you can always add more if you feel you need it. I will likely use our magnesium spray as well to give added support and relief! TIP - Apply oils about 5 minutes before a hot shower or bath. The water and heat will help drive the oils go deeper and intensify. This sore volleyballer is going to use some plants medicine that will hopefully bring some relief to sore and tired muscles.... and encouragement to keep playing volleyball in a body that is no longer a spring chicken. What are your "go tos" to help out a sore body?

05.01.2022 Working from home can lead to some extra help. Daisy is our quality control for the printing of our new kit signs for in our shop. What would we do without pets? Brad would probably survive (or so he thinks - he actually really likes Daisy but won't admit it) but the rest of us are very much animal lovers and need to spend time with them. ... We'd love to know how your pets "help" you at home! Show and tell below

05.01.2022 This is such an important tip as we come into the hotter months! Insects need our help sometimes, if you can leave out a dish with water and some rocks in it, you may be making life so much better for the beneficial bugs our world needs. I think we will set up a few dishes in our garden at the shop just for this purpose! I bet the birds will probably like it too! Who does this?

03.01.2022 It is often said that prevention is better than cure. This is something we have held onto for a long time. Since becoming aware of how our body works perfectly to stay healthy when it is given what it needs, we have done our best to do that in our family. We are no way near perfect - even though we would like to be well I (Reeda) certainly put a lot of pressure on myself to be. There are seasons in life where it can feel like it's just too hard and a full on crazy existenc...Continue reading
