19.01.2022 Such simple things My niece, Ella & I sat down the other morning & made ‘positivity rocks’ for our family & loved doing them for those we love. With so much drama/trauma happening with the fear of fires in our country - kids need to slow down, focus on the small things, avoid social media coverage (even for adults it is confronting)... We made them for family but I’ve been thinking that if we got back to these simple things we could spread little glimmers of happiness in the future. With areas that have been decimated-wouldn’t it be lovely to spread the love by popping some of these where people can find them & be quietly encouraged to keep going (I’m sure that evacuation centres would be happy to share these) With all that has happened it’s these simple ways that matter - a hug, a quiet touch on a shoulder, a simple message of hope The feel of something solid & tangible in their hand to hold & focus on What you need - small flat rocks (the size that someone could easily fit into a hand or pocket), permanent textas, glitter pens or metallic markers to glitz them up. Let their creativity happen or help by writing words for them & letting them add the colour. Use words like - Hope, Love, Dream, Be Positive, You Rock, Keep Going Has anyone got any other ideas of words to use? Or projects for children that encourage them to help in positive ways? I’m keen to hear & see your ideas & if you make these, drop a photo of your/your kids ‘hope’ messages.
18.01.2022 Am I a bad mum? Is it bad when I get excited that my daughter comes out calling for the lavender cause she burnt herself with the hair tongs? Since we started using EOs for our health & first aid, Sami has been heavily reluctant (we are very alike in personality & do butt heads a bit). But deep down she knows they work & when pushed (or poked with a hot iron ) she will concede.... All good, used, sorted & now I won’t have a request for my oily saviors till the next time she burns herself, or gets a sore throat or the eczema plays up or ...... One day she will do the same for her child - if I keep showing her that a natural substance can work as effectively - & that’s a legacy I’m happy to leave with her Yell out if you want to start your own legacy of teaching your family the benefits of what I now consider as natural wonders in our household
16.01.2022 SMOKE = DIFFUSE I woke last night at 2am to a fine smell of bushfire smoke in the air - the worst it’s been since these fires have started. Thankfully we are over 100km from the nearest one or it would be so much worse... Must be the atmospheric conditions pushing it down so low, as the light of day shows how bad it is Get your diffusers on now Why The Ultrasonic Technology uses high frequency vibrations to immediately turn water into a cool vapour without the use of heat. It also creates these benefits: The water vibrates at 2.4 million Hz/sec creating ‘healthy’ negative ions which counteract positive ‘pollutant’ ions in the air. Those ions help remove dust (& smoke), germs and bacteria in the air, and aid respiratory problems. It adds a very light moisture back into the atmosphere to create a better breathing environment. I am using EasyAir (our respiratory blend) in one diffuser & a blend of Wild Orange & Peppermint in the other. Obviously I only recommend the best essential oils because we don’t need to overload our system with synthetic toxins to boot. Any blends would work to help - if you have children that are worrying at this time (due to media coverage) they would benefit by using calming oils with the boost of a clearing one. If you need help in getting set up - let me know. Di
11.01.2022 Yummmm. Last nights tea - the easy way Cut 1kg of washed spuds into wedges. In a bowl put 1/2 cup olive oil, 2 drops oregano EO, 8 drops lemon EO, 2 cloves crushed garlic, 1 tsp chicken stock powder, 1 cup hot water. Mix together & coat spuds. Pour out onto an oven tray & bake for 20mins. Turn, stir & recoat spuds & back into oven to finish - another 10 mins or so.... DELISH Use as a side dish to your main or dress up with some sour cream ... (take my word that adding oils to sour cream works amazingly too - lemon or basil are my favs) See more
10.01.2022 I absolutely LOVE my dad His health is letting him down, he has reasonable days and then some not so much fun Through it all, our connection gets closer but our relationship has changed I am now the one telling him that things will be ok (that he will never be forgotten & that he has been the best dad that I could ever have wanted or needed ). Touch has been our way through the difficult days ... I’ve been doing Symphony of the Cells EO Applications to keep his system boosted & Aromatouch hand massages because he just loves them Who doesn’t love touch when things aren’t going the way they should be - I’m loving it too - it’s helping me as much. I choose calming oils that have emotional properties to help him accept the circumstances that have come about, to help him past the anger & disappointment of life’s journey He is loving the feel, the smell & the touch & our time together The bonus is that the nurses always say it is so nice coming into his room See more
