22.01.2022 "Stars and Storms" Here is some more footage from my recent flight to Bangkok and back to Zurich. I wasn't planning to do a time lapse but was aiming for for sh...arp stills. To have a reasonable chance to capture enough exposures with pinpoint stars that allows me to stack the sky, I nevertheless have to capture a rather long sequence. I therefore decided to stitch the sequence into into a time lapse movie. The first part is from the eastbound flight and shows the Milky Way core above some active Thunderstorms in the region of Lucknow, India. The second part is from the return flight, again over India. Due to the westbound track, the Milky Way is only visible at the very left edge of the frame, where the Southern Cross and the stars Alpha and Beta Centauri are slowly setting below horizon.
