21.01.2022 The absolutely amazing 20th Birthday Bash and Annual MTA Conference located at the Intercontinental Sanctuary Cove. What a wonderful company I am so lucky to be part of.

20.01.2022 After such an unbelievable turn of events these past few weeks it is hard to believe that only One Month ago today I was on the beautiful Gold Coast attending the 20th Birthday Celebrations and Annual Conference for MTA Travel. Certainly a perfect time to reflect on what a great company I partner with, even if things seem so bleak now we just have to look forward. Take a look at some of these amazing photos, we were certainly spoilt rotten and had the most amazing three da...ys. #supportourtravelindustry #supportlocalbusiness #mtatravel #mtapeoplepurposepassion #mtacelebrating20years

20.01.2022 I love this video A lot of difficult news these past few days for travel with QANTAS announcing huge job losses, Virgin bidding wars and border reopening predictions now further away, so this little video is a timely reminder to keep on dreaming, planning, inspiring & supporting travel HAPPY FRIDAY

20.01.2022 Important Travel Up-Date. Scott Morrison has just announced that as of Saturday 1159pm all arrivals via air, regardless of state or residency will no longer be allowed to return home on arrival. All arrivals will be taken to a hotel or government facility to see out the 14 Day quarantine period prior to returning home. For Tasmanian's this means that if you are flying home after Sat night and you have a transit in Melbourne or Sydney (etc) then you must complete your isolation there and will not be allowed to transit until complete.

10.01.2022 TRAVEL BROCHURE GIVEAWAY I am doing a clean out of travel brochures that have expired or are due to expire. I absolutely hate the waste of printed brochures and so my supply is fairly small however I can not stand the thought of just placing them in the recycling bin! So for those amazing parents out there who are currently winging their way through home schooling why not set the kids a project using my brochures? Younger kids can use them to cut out pictures helping them de...velop their fine motor skills and hand eye coordination. Older children can create a project from the photos, and investigate the country or animal species. If you live in the Huon Valley area and would like brochures please comment below and then follow-up with a PM. I will send you my mailbox details where you can collect - No need for face to face contact :) First in best dressed!

08.01.2022 I was lucky enough to hear the very inspirational Gemma Sisa speak in March at our 2020 National Conference. Gemma had flown all the way from Arusha, Tanzania especially to speak at our conference. You may remember seeing Gemma on Australian Story a few years ago. Gemma is the Founder of The School of St Jude. St Jude's provides free high quality education to some of Arushas most disadvantaged children. They currently educate over 1800 students and graduates of St Jude's supp...orted by the school go on to help educate over 10,000 government school students each year. Further to this the pressures of extreme poverty in Tanzania prevent children from attending school and so St Jude's also provides boarding for over 1400 students. The founders of MTA Travel, Karen & Roy Merricks recently announced that MTA are now proud sponsors of a seven year old student at the School of St Jude and this sponsorship will allow her the opportunity to complete a full education with St Jude. All of this had me thinking, how do schools in some of the poorest communities in the world provide home schooling for their students. These students do not have access to iPads, computers or even simple stationary. I found this fantastic short video produced by St Jude explaining just how they are helping their students continue their education during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Inspirational - If only we lived in a world where all children had access to such high quality and supportive education, imagine the possibilities.
