17.01.2022 Kata Seisan ( ) (nombres alternativos SESAN, Seishan, Jusan, Hangetsu ) significa literalmente '13'. Algunas personas se refieren al kata como "13 manos", "1...3 puños", "13 técnicas", "13 pasos" o incluso "13 posiciones para matar". Sin embargo, estos nombres no tienen base histórica. Se cree que Seisan es uno de los katas más antiguos, y está bastante extendido entre otras escuelas de Nahate. Shito-ryu tiene su propia versión y ahora se practican diferentes versiones incluso en derivados de Shuri-te como Shotokan (llamado Hangetsu) y en Wado-ryu (llamado Seishan). Isshin-ry también adoptó este kata. Este kata también se practica en estilos coreanos como Tang Soo Do y Soo Bahk Do y se llama Sei-Shan o Seishan en coreano. Debido a su dificultad, este kata suele estar reservado para estudiantes avanzados.
