24.01.2022 Soirées are back!! Starting this Saturday 14th November at 5.30-8.30. There’s a new soirée team and a new menu! Come grab some kachapuri (Georgian cheese bread) straight out of our wood fired oven, a mug of homemade baked beans or a sweet treat. BYO picnic welcome.... Music by various artists will keep entertained - including Scraps! Also, there will be heirloom tomatoes for sale on the night! How goods that; an event for music, eating and gardening all wrapped into one!?

22.01.2022 We have got so much food in the garden right now - please come and pick your spring greens here! Come for a little wander through the gardens, enjoy the chickens, marvel at the new kitchen renovation and enjoy a seat in the sun. Or stay a bit longer and help out like these fabulous folk. Hope to see you around!

16.01.2022 Here’s Lilly from @parkbeachcafe harvesting some greens for the cafe - broad bean tips, corn salad, oak leaf lettuce, broccoli and mustard greens. It doesn’t get much fresher or less food miles than that! They also drop off their compost which closes the loop. Win win win #eatlocalthinkglobal #springgreens #community #compost

13.01.2022 Soirée invite and info below...

12.01.2022 Here’s an awesome seed saving initiative to check out and get involved with if you’re after seeds or grow your own!

11.01.2022 Here’s a shout out to the dedicated Southern Beaches Landcare Coastcare group. They’re doing amazing work protecting our land and environment, and have been doing so for the past 20 odd years! They’ve rehabilitated fragile coastal areas, Blue Lagoon, Jacks Flat and been land stewards and coordinated countless other projects over the years.... To get involved in local land management and rehabilitation projects, follow their FB page or get in touch with them to stay in the loop. It’s inspiring having this local group whose work has immediate gains to our community. Thanks @Southern Beaches Landcare Coastcare!!

11.01.2022 Food for Thought is an awesome opportunity for a delicious meal made from local produce and an informative chat about therapeutic horticulture. A great night out without leaving town!

08.01.2022 We’re excited to be getting bees at Okines Community Garden. Bee boxes were built by a new generation of bee keepers who were keen as mustard

03.01.2022 It’s like Christmas around here! We’ve gotten our bee equipment and we can’t wait to get stuck into building hives and catching some swarms come spring. I have a feeling it’s going to be a swarmy season as last year there were hardly any and this year has been wet, so hopefully lots of nectar flowing and therefore swarming once the weather gets warmed up. If you’d like to get involved assembling hives and learning about bees, we will be getting stuck into hive building on most Mondays and Fridays until mid September at the garden. If you’re keen, please respond to this post or send us a PM to register your interest so we can manage numbers. Thanks to the local 2A4 grants for making this a reality!!

03.01.2022 Fridays in the garden are a good day! Grow and Learn happens - a program with students from Dodges Ferry Primary School. Today they practised mindfulness while making beautiful flower mandalas, and tended to their veggie patches. And, our amazing volunteers show up and punch out volumes of valuable work - planting, transplanting and growing up seedlings. Thanks to all our vollies for the many, many hours you put in to make the gardens thrive! If you want to come along for a feed and weed, join us at Garden Tucker this Monday (November 2nd) from 10.30 for a nutritious, delicious seasonal lunch and some gardening! Thanks

01.01.2022 The garden kitchen and co-op renovations are done and we’re opening again! To celebrate the co-op is hosting a morning tea on Sunday 6th September and Garden Tucker is on again September 7th! If you’d like to come please send me a PM or reply to this post as we need to comply with covid numbers. Garden Tucker will be on again the first Monday of the month from now on. If you miss out on this one, you can get in on another
