16.01.2022 Happy meaty Monday everybody! Starting the week with a simple but very nutritious meal. Pasture raised calf liver and diced fat. In a hot pan, fry the fat first... for a few minutes and before adding the liver, make sure you reduce the heat to medium-low as liver burns very easily. Cook until ready according to the way you like it and season with salt to taste. Liver is one of the best superfoods in nature. Eat your supplements and set yourself free from any pill!!! Have a great start of the week!

12.01.2022 Did you know that the longest recorded fast lasted 382 days? Yes, you read that right. It’s even in the Guinness Book of World Records. In 1965, a man by the ...name Angus Barbieri, at the age of 27 and weighing 456 pounds, embarked on the longest ever medically supervised fast. At first, the goal was to fast for 40-days, however, encouraged by his progress, he decided to go on until he reached his goal weight of 180 pounds. He was prescribed a daily vitamin supplement, vitamin C, yeast for B vitamins, and the occasional electrolyte supplement. He was allowed to consume any non-caloric beverage as he wished, such as tea, coffee, and sparkling water. On day 382 of the fast, he had lost a total of 276 pounds, weighing in at 180 pounds. He had reached his goal! What’s more is that he experienced no significant adverse side-effects and five years following the fast, he had maintained his weight loss at ~196 pounds. Throughout the fast, Barbieri’s blood glucose levels hovered in the clinical ranges of hypoglycemia, yet he did not experience any symptoms of such. Rather, the authors note that the patient remained symptom free, felt well and walked about normally. Thanks to other studies on brain metabolism during prolonged starvation, we now know that this is largely due to the fact that ketones are able to replace glucose as the brain’s primary fuel source in such conditions. While we are in no way condoning extended fasts such as this, this story highlights the remarkable adaptations of human metabolism during extreme conditions. Not only this, it is also an inspiring story of one man’s determination to regain health in the face of a seemingly insurmountable situation. 10.01.2022 "Now, a growing body of evidence suggests that glucose hypometabolism may be more than just a biomarker on brain scans it may be a key player in dementia pathol...ogy". Several speakers at the Metabolic Health Summit have been saying this for over a decade, so glad to see it finally getting attention. See more

05.01.2022 Conventional dietary wisdom holds that the micronutrients (vitamins, minerals and trace elements) we need from foods are most highly concentrated in fruits and ...vegetables. While it’s true that fresh fruits and veggies are full of vitamins and minerals, their micronutrient content doesn’t always hold up to what is found in meats and organ meatsespecially liver. Check out my article below to learn more about nature’s most potent superfood.

02.01.2022 Happy meaty Monday everybody! Starting the week with the most natural superfood on earth. Sautéed liver with beef fat and a boiled egg. Quick and satisfying.... Here’s how to prepare it: Place the egg in a pot with water to cover. As soon as it boils, set the alarm for 4,5 minutes (if you want it cooked as you see it in the pic). Consider that the egg in the picture is a small one (50gr). Remove the egg from the pot and place it in a bowl with cold water. Wait until it cools down before peeling. Dice the liver and the fat. Warm up a pan and when hot, add the fat and fry it for a few minutes until reaching the texture you desire. Reduce the heat and add the liver, make sure you reduce the heat to medium-low as liver burns very easily. Stir, add salt to taste and cook until ready according to the way you like. This was cooked for only a few minutes to have it still pink-ish in the inside. Have a great start of the week!
