25.01.2022 Year 1 are celebrating their families this week in the lead up to Father's Day. They are so clever to learn sign language as part of their Prayer Assembly to teach us about cooperation, friendship and all the things we do to show love to our families. "For children all over the world, we pray that they will always be thankful for what their mothers and fathers do for them." Wishing all our dads, grandads, uncles and significant male figures in our lives a very lovely F...ather's Day on Sunday. We Are a Family - Jack Hartmann

24.01.2022 Welcome to Week 8. We pray for the Year 6 Confirmation Candidates and their families as the children receive the Sacrament of Confirmation this Friday. In our celebrations, we remember that Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to his followers, to guide and strengthen us. May we accept these gifts and live according to them, so that we can learn the ways of the Spirit and make a difference in our world. Have a lovely week.

24.01.2022 Today we took part in a Fruit and Veg Day at OLA. We were encouraged to bring in our most colourful and vibrant fruits and vegetables to eat for Crunch & Sip. Teachers were very impressed with the variety we saw such as broccoli, passionfruit, beans, berries and corn! It was good to see students snacking on these fresh fruits and vegetables

22.01.2022 This week we celebrated Naidoc Week. The theme for NAIDOC Week 2020 is ‘Always Was, Always will be’ and asks us to recognise that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65 000 years. We participated in different activities such as prayer, storytelling and art. We have been able to see, hear and learn about the First Nation’s history of our country which is Australian history. Enjoy a selection of work from our very talented students at OLA.

14.01.2022 This Thursday, 10 September is R U OK? Day, the national day dedicated to encouraging adults and children to talk about mental health and mental illness. The R U OK? organisation aims to promote connectedness among communities, reduce social isolation and encourage help-seeking behaviours. As a Catholic school community and especially at this time when communities like ours have never felt so disconnected from each other, it is important to teach our students how to have conv...ersations around their own and other’s mental health and hopefully provide our students with the confidence to ask the question 'Are You OK?' to their friends and family members. To provide our students with an understanding, we will be holding a Mufti Day this Thursday 10 September. We have linked this day to our OLA Positive Behaviours program - "At OLA we: Have rights and responsibilities Everyone is safe Are mindful and Respectful Together we learn" All students can wear yellow, green, red or blue mufti clothing on Thursday and all classes will take part in lessons/activities that will bring awareness and encourage conversations and questions that are age appropriate. For more information, visit https://www.ruok.org.au/join-r-u-ok-day

10.01.2022 Today is All Souls' Day, an opportunity to commemorate the faithful departed. We pray for the souls of people who are in Purgatory - the place in which those wh...o have died atone for their less grave sins - before being granted the vision of God in heaven. Pray for us Prayer for the Dead God our Father, Your power brings us to birth, Your providence guides our lives, and by Your command we return to dust. Lord, those who die still live in Your presence, Their lives change but do not end. I pray in hope for my family, relatives and friends and for all the dead known to You alone. In company with Christ, Who died and now lives, may they rejoice in Your kingdom, where all our tears are wiped away. Unite us together again in one family, to sing Your praise forever and ever. Amen.
