22.01.2022 Courtesy of Simon Wood, check out the President's Report from last season which featured in the Carey Torch 2020. Provides a nice summation of how our Club fared both on and off the field in 2019/20. We hope everyone is well and staying safe during the Covid-19 period. See you in a few months (hopefully) for the 2020/21 season! https://issuu.com/careygr//torch_autumn_2020-13/s/10955839

22.01.2022 The Old Carey Cricket Club wishes to announce a new head coaching appointment with Drew Smith taking the reigns from season 2020/21. The Club and Committee are thrilled to award the position to Drew after performing a thorough search process. Drew has shown excellent leadership as Assistant Coach over the past few seasons and the Club views him as an ideal fit for the demographic of our playing group and how we are positioned moving forward. We are delighted to grant him the... opportunity and know that he will command the respect of the players. The Committee wishes to thank Callum Still who is stepping down from the role after five years due to work commitments. Cal has done a fantastic job leading the Club to a number of premierships, demonstrating outstanding leadership on and off the field and in developing and embracing our younger players. We look forward to having Cal continuing in a playing capacity and as a specialist coach. The Committee views the Head Coach position as an exciting prospect with where the club is positioned going into Dunstan Shield next season, combined with the continued growth of all 4 teams throughout the grades. Drew is a highly regarded person at the Club and will be well supported in his new position as Head Coach. The Club wishes to thank those who applied for the coaching position and extends a warm hand to the Old Carey and Cricket Community during the COVID-19 period. Stay tuned for more updates throughout the off season and we will see you all for pre-season training (hopefully) in August.

20.01.2022 After the semi-final heartbreak of last season, the Ones made immediate amends by beating Glen Iris and booking their spot in the Grand Final. And with it came some good fortune with the top side losing, meaning it's a Cheesy home final this weekend. Unfortunately the top of the table Twos couldn't make it four GF's on the trot, being completely outplayed by Donvale. The Threes were on track all weekend against Richmond City, but heartbreakingly ran out of gas close to the li...ne. While the Fours bravely put a team out on the field, however found it tough going against a superior Old Camberwell outfit. The silver lining, as the Ones proved this weekend, it may sting now, but it can only make you stronger. Let's go!

20.01.2022 It's finals time and again, the Cheese have booked their spots. For the third year in a row, the 1's, 2's and 3's will be at home for their respective semi-finals, while the 4's will be playing their maiden MCC Grand Final just across the road. First cheds thrown at 12.30pm be there!... 1's vs Glen Iris (Gramlick Oval) 2's vs Donvale (Dunshea Oval) 3's vs Richmond City (Spicer Oval) 4's vs Old Camberwell (Trinity Sports Grounds)

19.01.2022 The Cheese boys continue to do it in the off-season. Congratulations Tom Atkins, Dan Clarke and Cal Still for ECA recognition in a season to remember for all The Cheese.

16.01.2022 We would like to congratulate and thank our 1st XI Opening Bowler Ben Jowett who has elected to accept an offer from a Premier Club for the impending 2020/21 season. A crucial member of our 1st XI for the past two years, Ben has taken 35 wickets at 16.5 with his performance also earning him a place in the Wright Shield team of the season squad for the past two years. He will definitely be missed both on and off the field, however perhaps not by his teammates in the nets! Wh...ilst we are sad to see him go, the Club would like to wish Ben well as he pursues his Premier Cricket aspirations in the years to come. As per Ben's example, the Club encourages its cricketers to develop their game and sees itself as a place to prepare our cricketers for any further challenges they want to take on. We are confident Jowie has the weapons to succeed at Premier Cricket and we certainly wish him all the best. Well done Ben and we look forward to having you back on the other side! OCCC
