03.01.2022 Are you ready for all of the festive feasts that the silly season brings? We think Australia's South West is the perfect place to experience a meal you won't fo...rget. Especially when the region has a great selection of local seafood, including one of the best - marron! Otherwise known as freshwater crayfish, this is a delicacy that can be caught frequently (licence required), and is also available for you to devour at some of the gourmet restaurants throughout the region. Our mouths are watering at the thought of all the succulent water-to-plate morsels on offer. Think freshly shucked oysters, native fish and sweet crustaceans from unspoilt ocean waters, and freshwater delights such as trout, perch and of course, marron! Let's not forget grabbing a classic serve of fish and chips to enjoy by the beach as the sun goes down. Bon appétit!

02.01.2022 THE CASCADES, Gloucester National Park Pemberton WA It was so worth the effort to head out early and catch the mist rising from the Cascades in Gloucester NP, ...near Pemberton WA The countryside around Pemberton is absolutely stunning. The towering karri trees with tall slender trucks rise over 50m above the forest floor. On cooler mornings it is common to wake to the sun casting golden rays through the thick mist that rises from the river. Bird life is prolific in the forest and in spring the wildflowers are amazing. There is a short 1.2 km walk, the Lefroy Brook Loop Walk, that follows the river upstream from the Cascades and I will post more information about it soon.
