23.01.2022 Another OGG in the AFL! Thomson Dow (P'19) will debut for Richmond tonight against the West Coast Eagles. Thomson pressed his case through the weekly scrimmage games contested by clubs in hubs throughout the season, eventually "beating the door down" after being named as an emergency several times throughout this disjointed season. Thomson joined the School in Year 11 and won "Most Consistent" in his first year of GGS footy before winning the Alan Gray Memorial Trophy (best and fairest) in Year 12. On Derby Day in 2019, Thomson shifted forward in the second term and turned the game on its head with three goals in four minutes. He won the Peter Betts Medal for best on ground in that GGS vs TGC fixture. We wish Thomson all the best tonight and throughout his career.

22.01.2022 What a wild day of weather with snowfall at Timbertop and significant hail at Corio Campus.

19.01.2022 Happy 102nd Birthday to Boz Parsons (M'36)! OGG Fellow, former Housemaster of Manifold House 1965-78 and Secretary of the OGGs from 1979-88, Boz attended GGS from 1931-1936 and is one of the legends of our School. Boz featured in the School's 2015 multimedia project '100 Exceptional Stories', which coincided with the School celebrating 100 years at Corio. He attended the School on the Bertie Manifold Scholarship from 1931 to 1936. After serving as a bomber pilot in World War II, he returned to the School as a teacher and became Head of Manifold House. We wish you a wonderful day Boz!

16.01.2022 As the country is experiencing a collective nostalgia for the #Sydney2000, it feels like an opportune time to revisit the efforts of three Old Geelong Grammaria...ns at the Sydney Olympics. Kate Allen OAM (née Slatter, OGG'88) won a silver medal in the women's coxless pairs with Rachael Taylor, adding to the gold medal she won in the same event four years prior. Kate was an outstanding all-round athlete at GGS, excelling in Athletics, Cross Country and Swimming. Craig Mottram (OGG'98) finished eighth in his heat for the 5,000m. He went on to represent Australia in Athens 2004, Beijing 2008 and London 2012. Craig holds the Boys' Open 1,500m and 3,000m School Records and a pair of his runners are on display in the Timbertop Museum. Nick Heffernan (OGG'92) was a member of the Australian épée team which reached the quarter finals; Australia's best team fencing result in Olympic history. #tbt See more
