In 1973 the Australian Government made all Cadet Units throughout the country voluntary. However it wasn't until 1975 when all Cadet units were disbanded completely. #OldHale

15.01.2022 VALE Sadly, this week we heard the news that Don Wright, our legendary Hale boatman for 22 years from 1973-1994 passed away, just short of his 100th birthday. Many of our rowers would remember Don and how much he loved Hale Rowing. He was a good carpenter and mechanic, and made quick and effective repairs to all boats and oars and kept boats and motors beautifully maintained. His strict rules of conduct inside the shed were legendary.. In his retirement, he still came to every Head of the River that he could. Rest in Peace Don. Don’s funeral will be held on Thursday 11 February, 10.30am at the Pinnaroo East Chapel.

08.01.2022 This Sunday is the annual Euroz Hartleys North Cottesloe Cold Water Classic . The event started in 2014 when Old Boy and former Swimming Captain (1986) James Anderson’s daughter, Mimi, was diagnosed with leukaemia. Himself and a group of friends from the open water swimming community started the event to raise funds & awareness for the Leukaemia Foundation. Looks like it will be great weather for it and it’s not too late to enter. https://www.northcottcoldwaterclassic.com/ Register here: https://bit.ly/2FyYGDd
