Popping the cork releases butterscotch that fades into toffee and then abruptly stops. On drinking, however, there is heavy oakiness, some spices, bits of wrinkled old apple and a ton of tannins and leather - like licking a horse from an old western. At 49% there is zing on the finish and a lingering dryness.
