21.01.2022 Hi! Chris and Louise here from Old Mate's Burgers. This is a bit of a longer post, but it's a story worth telling, so we hope you stay around til the end! As we said yesterday, 5 years ago we bought the then Bread and Butter Hut. Since that time we've learned a lot, worked really hard, tried new things, made some mistakes, changed our mode of transportation a few times, added some new faces to the team and said goodbye to others and met some great people along the way. Fast f...orward to 2020, and........ well....... Covid. After a few weeks of checking daily updates from Scomo, being a takeaway and delivery service, we were able to trade on throughout all the restrictions without having to rely on Jobkeeper payments. Heading into April, we completed our quarterly BAS, expecting the usual bill, only to be given $10,000 from the government as part of their Small Business Stimulus Relief Package. And we did exactly what the government expected us to do! We spent every cent locally to finally put our stamp on our business. We couldn't have done it without the help from Erin at HelloCoco Studio, Steve from IceGraphics, the team at Signs Express, Peter at East Coast Cabinets, our landlord, Gloria and the friends and family who helped us renovate. Old Mate's Burgers was finally a reality! Our mantra is 'Excellence on a Bun!' and that's what we strive towards. We have a great team and work really hard to provide delicious food and excellent service. We really want to thank all our loyal customers, as well as the new ones, for your support of our business.
