21.01.2022 Old Melbourne Plaster is super honoured to have received the Award for Excellence in Decorative Plaster by @awci_vic for our work at The Capitol Theatre. We would like to thank the judges for their consideration and of course @hutchies1912, @rmit and @sixdegreesarchitects. Also a big thank you to Andrew Val for accepting the award on behalf of the OMP crew.... Special thanks to: Liam (Brownie) Brown. How I ended up with such a committed apprentice escapes me. You’re a legend. Kieran (Kiro) Dunleavy. Always ready to help, even if it means putting himself under pressure and always ready to get his hands dirty. We will be forever grateful to have you as a friend. Alan Donahue. Best white setter in the business and again, proud to have you as a mate. Andy Hopkins. Where do I start? A true mentor and friend. There have never been any strings attached to your advice. You have only ever wanted to see us do well. Lyndon Hopkins. Not only are you a great mate, but you were the springboard for OMP to be able to undertake projects of this caliber. Forever grateful to you for this. Mark Hopkins. Complete legend, friend and master manufacturer. John Barry and Zoran, Your talent and expertise is unrivalled. We would also like to thank Hopkins Plaster Studio Picton Manufacturing Justin Gee Pip Neil Hutcho Steve Van Bieber Anthony Sturzo Scott Howson Damo Warbs and all of the Subbies that have helped us throughout this project.

21.01.2022 Enormously proud to have now received the NATIONAL award for our work on the Capitol Theatre. A huge thanks to the AWCI for both awards - there was such great competition this year which makes these awards so much more special. We have such a passion for plaster and all things heritage and just being part of this project to begin with was an honour so to receive this recognition is beyond all expectations & very humbling.

18.01.2022 After 12 months of being tested in every aspect of our trade, we have completed the plaster restoration of the RMIT Capitol Theatre. The level of detail achieved by the original fibrous plasterers on this project in 1922 was unlike anything I have ever seen in Australia. To be given the opportunity to in parts replicate, repair and restore the plaster work here has been the project of a lifetime! We will forever be greatful to @rmit & @hutchys1912 & @sixdegrees for having the confidence in us to do so. Thank you.
