21.01.2022 We have 3 Events at The Old Museum hosted by Brisbane Festival. The season opens with MONO:Offsite 7:00pm 6th September 2020 A triple bill of solo performances featuring Vanessa Tomlinson, Robin Fox and Lawrence English. With border closures in place, its with a heavy heart we announce that Chris Abrahams wont be able to join us for MONO: Offsite. (Well have him up later on, dont worry!)... In his place, Brisbane Festival is pleased to announce a triple bill of solo performances featuring Vanessa Tomlinson, Robin Fox and Lawrence English. Vanessa Tomlinson will extend her Percussion At Dusk studies of deep gong resonation, with an intimate solo piece for tam tam. Armed with a small modular and a laptop, Robin Fox has prepared for his first solo audio show in almost half a decade for this years Brisbane Festival. He doesnt know what to expect and neither should you. Lawrence Englishs love affair with the Old Museums organ has been well documented on numerous recordings including this years Lassitude. Perhaps best recognised for his role in legendary trio The Necks, Chris Abrahams will perform on The Old Museum organ, his first time performing an organ solo in Brisbane. 13 Sept Wallpaper Music - World Premiere Featuring a new commission by Erik Griswold, Wallpaper Music part four, this performance for prepared piano uses the instrument in a radically retuned way, multiplying it into a variety of muted, percussive, buzzing and gong-like sounds. 20 Sept Inner Cities One of Australias most accomplished advocates of new music, Gabriella Smart, performs Alvin Currans epic five-hour solo piece, Inner Cities, in its entirety.

14.01.2022 Our rooms are well appointed for meetings and similar gatherings for 20 people. From Stage 3 we have spaces for 80-100 people.

14.01.2022 7 years ago a collective of musicians, engineers, artists and creatives brought The Museum Collective to the gardens of The Old Museum. This was a free concert where the performers were not advertised, where the collective just asked patrons to trust in them. Over 400 people arrived, and sat in the garden. The concert included Kahl Wallis, Alex Henriksson, Matt Corby, Rohin Jones, Bree Tranter, Israel Rivera, Will Davey, and more friends. Phones were left at the door, so the ...only photos of this event were by the official photographer. The Museum Collective went on to create 3 more events, Woodford Folk Festival, The B Show, and World Museum Day. All of these were free events, and were a collaboration of artists, creatives and clever technical people. This was one of those days where ‘you just had to be there’ and the people who were there will never forget. The Old Museum has been a collaborator and supporter of creative endeavours for the last 14 years. We are proud to be a small part of these special events. 11.01.2022 There is a little confusion about this Ticket Booth at the entrance to the Exhibition Building (now Studio 1) . This was gifted to The Old Museum by Paramount Studios, after they filmed a scene from Dora The Explorer in Studio 3. It is such a well made prop, one might think it was original.
