24.01.2022 For the first time in 65 years, it was feared the Eternal Flame at Melbourne’s Shrine of Remembrance would be extinguished. But thanks to a quick response from RMIT manufacturing experts, the flame continues to be an enduring symbol of eternal life.

18.01.2022 OSP&Ds have the honour of playing for veterans and their families/supporters in today’s Anzac March in Melbourne. A performance undertaken with particular pride this year in the service and achievements of another old Scotch Collegian - General Sir John Monash - Dux of the School in the Class of 1880 Apologies to those who have fallen in love with our red check socks. We have upgraded to more robust pure wool dark blue socks - for obvious reasons
18.01.2022 A shout out to the players in the Warrnambool and District Pipe Band which was unable to participate in today’s Victorian Pipe Band Championships due to Terang, Gazette and Gnotuk bush and grass fires which cut major roads between Geelong And Warrnambool. Hoping you and your homes are all safe.
16.01.2022 I don’t think that this idea will catch on in for competition play. Too easily affected by cool climate conditions

12.01.2022 The Old Scotch Pipes and Drums will be playing in the Melbourne Anzac Day march on Anzac Day (obviously ) we will be stepping off at about 10:30 from Flinders Street and marching up St Kilda Road to the Shrine of Remembrance. We will also be playing in the Massed Bands at about 12 noon just prior to the formal Anzac service. Proud to march but even prouder of our many returned services personnel and their families/supporters who turn out to remember the fallen - lest we forget.
08.01.2022 Old Scotch Pipes &. Drums mourns the passing of one of the giants of Pipe Bands in both Victoria and Australia. Bob Semple was one of the last surviving WW2 Rats of Tobruk and universally respected and loved across the pipe band community as both a Drum Major and as a vigorous and passionate advocate for all the rats and other returned servicemen and women. Bob would have turned 100 in May 2020 and he stood as an inspiration for all he met. A truly great bloke, he will be missed. For Bob and all those who served, we will remember you - lest we forget.
