25.01.2022 Today, our Year 7 and 8 students began a three week unit in Aboriginal art, designed by Senior Art Teacher, Ms Sarah George. This is the first in a series of In...digenous units created to enhance the art curriculum. The subject for today's lesson were artworks by celebrated artist, Lorraine Kabbindi White, a Kunwinjhu, Gunmok woman. Kabbindi trained as an artist beside her grandfather, Bardayal Lofty Nadjamerrek AO, a renowned artist, respected traditional leader and ceremonial master. In 2020, Trinity commissioned Kabbindi to create four artworks to be installed in The Drum meeting room within the Tudor Centre. The pieces speak of the artist's deep spiritual connection to her country and all species within it. They are part of her Dreaming a personal story of creation and being. As well as being a valuable addition to our art collection, they present a rich teaching resource for our students. #stonecountrycreations #lorrainekabbindiwhite #NAIDOC2020 #tgsLearnLeadBelong #TrinityGrammarKew

15.01.2022 This term the Year 3 boys are exploring the central idea, ‘World faiths may connect people and build relationships locally and globally’ as a part of the Primar...y Years Program. Early in the term, the boys had a Teams call with Manjit Singh Hoonjan in Calcutta to ask him about Sikhism and Manjit’s experience living as a Sikh. This week the boys devised their own faith, combining aspects of all the faiths that they have studied. They made many connections between faiths and were very open-minded as they collaborated in groups of eight to create places of worship, rules, holy books, celebrations and symbols. The boys showed great pride when they shared their new faiths with teachers who had assisted them in their learning. #tgsLearnLeadBelong #TrinityGrammarKew

14.01.2022 On November 14, we celebrated 118 years since the founding of our school. This year, it’s not possible for us to run our annual get together, so instead we invite our OTG community to share a photo wearing your OTG tie during the month of November. The OTGA gift ties to the outgoing TGS Year 12 students to welcome them to the OTG community. If you don’t have a tie and wish to purchase one, they are available for $25.00 by contacting us at [email protected] (ties are available only to OTGs)

01.01.2022 Huge congratulations to Daniel Kotsimbos (OTG 2015) on being awarded the inaugural Fivex Art Prize for Billboard Art! His artwork will be displayed on the digital billboards opposite Flinders Street station. Kotsimbos' winning entry Peak Frequency is a visualisation of a sound recording, taken at the corner of Flinders and Elizabeth Streets. The 23-year-old says it was recorded before COVID hit, at peak hour on a weekday. The idea of the piece is to make people more aware of the world around them. https://www.smh.com.au//inaugural-billboard-art-prize-awar
