22.01.2022 Ole Lantana Seeds Reaches a Milestone at Last. It was almost a year ago that we commissioned a website builder to come up with a suitable website and we were pleased with the result by Red Panda Graphics of Toowoomba. After a few disappointing starts with others, it was refreshing to have Red Panda follow through and satisfy a long-held dream. Once we had our website, the task was to populate it with the sales inventory. An onerous task, but a labour of love. Our inventor...y was loaded on a popular muli-sales site which had to be transferred and modified into a format for the new website, not a difficult task but certainly time consuming. In addition, management of the two sites, inventory split between the two sites, paperwork altered to accommodate the change and sales had to juggled to keep everything in balance while a continuous stocktake was performed. The milestone? Our entire inventory of nearly 1000 items has been uploaded to the Ole Lantana Seeds website. Whoopee! The business is a partnership between Leanne, Judith and I and everyone did their part. However, the volume of work and enthusiasm by Leanne was what carried the task through to completion and all while she holds a day job, undergoes a serious TAFE course and manages a household. (This old codger has a real problem trying to keep up!). We will still keep our store on the multi-sales website (and be ruled by their big stick) but now we are in control of at least part of our business and have the opportunity to grow without the restrictions and huge expenses of that multi-sales site.
