24.01.2022 We’re so happy to be reopening tomorrow morning. Our menu will be limited as we are unable to get stock deliveries until Monday afternoon. We are still under density restrictions so seating and group numbers are limited - you are welcome to call before you visit to check seating availability but we won’t be taking bookings.... If you are visiting please remember to adhere to social distancing, sanitize when you enter the cafe and use the correct entrance / exit doors. Look forward to seeing you soon!

If you have any small pots, empty and clean yoghurt containers, takeaway coffee cups etc please leave them in the bottom drawer of the cart so Margy can continue sharing her bounty of seedlings with the community.

21.01.2022 Howdy Cart at the Olive Branch cafe will be topped up again tomorrow... Nicole Mcintosh tells me that quite a few of you picked yourselves up a little treat tod...ay. .....so me, being the party animal that I am, have spent my Saturday night picking flowers before the heat kicks in tomorrow. More Alstroemeria wrapped bunches, sweet peas and a few "colour me happy" pots will be available from 0900 when the cafe opens. Good news! I will be at the Woodside Market next Saturday 21st Nov, so those of you weekday workers that find it tricky to get to the cafe, can come and pick up some pretties from me personally! There will be lots to choose from. Fresh flowers, potted flowers and some Christmas stuff. Look forward to seeing you there!

18.01.2022 EDIT:: All ready meals now sold out. As you’re no doubt aware we are heading into lockdown so the café will be closed for the next week. At least...... We still have plenty of fresh ready meals available (all can be frozen) and will also be selling our 4lt Tweedvale full cream and 2lt skim milks. Feel free to call to place an order. Please note that we will be closing today at 4:00pm.

17.01.2022 We’re very excited that one of our regular music events is starting again. ‘Marco’s Open Mic’ will start again this Sunday 19th July from around 5pm. Due to covid19 there will be a couple of minor changes - please book ahead so we can keep a handle on our numbers, BYO mic if you are performing and you will need to supply contact details on arrival in case of any requirement for contact tracing.... 17.01.2022 Lots of people have been asking for our vegan lasagne again - well here it is.

13.01.2022 We're so excited to be starting Crafty Kids again after the 'covid 19' break - and we have a free 10 session pass up for grabs! If you're unfamiliar, crafty kids is a story time, craft and cooking program for preschoolers. Two session are run every Tuesday morning in the cafe play area. Although designed for 3 years and up (allowing carers the chance for a quiet coffee!!), younger children are also welcome but will require an adult to stay with them.... The sessions run for 30 - 45 minutes depending on the scheduled activity. Many of our participants from last year have now 'graduated' on to kindy and school so we have plenty of places available. To get the word out we are doing a lucky draw for a 10 session pass to all who like our page, comment on and share this post before 4pm Sunday 26th - so get sharing!!!

06.01.2022 We will be baking again this week for Flint Community Care. If you would like to assist by donating ingredients we’d be incredibly grateful...... We will be in need of eggs and either vegie oil or margarine. This week we will be making banana bread and gluten free mandarin and almond cakes as well as continuing with making muesli slices/bars.... We don’t require any volunteers this time but will put out a call for our next bulk soup session xx

05.01.2022 We'd like to give a huge shout out to everyone who's helped us over the past few weeks with our cooking for Flint Community Care (formerly Nairne Fire Support). Did you know that this amazing group home delivers between 200-300 free food hampers EVERY WEEK to the Hills area and rely on a skeleton staff of volunteers only? Imagine the logistics of this.......... If anyone has a spare few hours to volunteer with transporting food, packing hampers, delivering etc it would be amazing. If you're a PR whizz who can help to lift Flint's profile that would be double amazing!!! The Hills community has shown how it can band together and support one another over these past 6 months - lets keep it up!!! For more information please comment.

Last week we were able to send 6 boxes of grocery items, toys and Christmas treats to Flint Community Care to distribute in their amazing drive through event. Tomorrow another three boxes will go out to the Woodside Lutheran Church to be distributed by the ‘meals for fire effected families’ group. These incredible people have been delivering home cooked m...eals, love and support to people in the fire scar for the past 12 months. They are tireless and so much appreciated. Our community is truly amazing - we are so blessed to live where we do

01.01.2022 Our Flint Community Care wishing tree is up! Accepting donations NOW for Christmas Hampers. Hampers will be going out on Dec 11th so we only have a week to get as many donations in as possible. Making a difference to someone in our community is so simple - from experience I can say that something as simple as a box of candy canes can do that.......when we lost our home on Dec 20 last year Christmas was the last thing on our minds. Some beautiful people brought us a hamper of Christmas goodies which meant we were able to feel somewhat normal in those days of celebration - even more than that - that there were people in our community who cared. This year Flint community care will be sharing their love not only with bushfire affected families but also with those doing it tough due to covid, health problems and social isolation.
