22.01.2022 I am proud. My creative mum Barb Woolford and her creative friends bought a big old machinery shed/shop in Kimba and have turned it into Workshop 26 - a creative hub/event venue/market space/tourist attraction/community centre etc. I love that this crew are not only dreamers who seriously think outside of the box, they are doer’s as well. It’s easy to have a crazy idea and then think of all the negatives, how it won’t work, how hard it will be to achieve and then squash it. B...ut if we all think like that nothing will ever happen and nothing will ever change. What they have achieved in a very short time is amazing. It looks absolutely stunning (think country version of Plant 4 Bowden & Brick+Mortar Creative) and I can not wait to see how Workshop 26 evolves over time, the possibilities are endless. Well Done!! 15.01.2022 Gotta love fresh paint!! Shannon Matthews from SM Decorative Effects did an awesome job of prepping and painting our lounge room and kitchen at 64 West tce. He was very understanding and flexible with dates, working long hours to get the job done between bookings. 14.01.2022 [ O U R S T O R Y ] Tom and I live and farm just out of Port Neill with our 2 daughters Indie and Elke. We have owned Olive House Accommodation since 2015 and here is our story.. 21 years ago these two hard working legends- Lorraine and Ray (my Grandparents) bought 64 West Tce. They started a massive reno with the aim to provide Kimba with a self contained accommodation option. After about a year of business, they were amazed at the high demand for this type of accommodation... so they bought 27 Railway tce and set it up as the second Olive House Bed and Breakfast. They operated this business for 17 years until they decided to put the houses on the market and retire in Adelaide. Tom and I, with a gentle nudge from our parents, could see that this business had been successful in the past and so we thought we would have a crack at running it ourselves. We bought West tce in 2015 and then Railway tce in 2018. Since 2015 we have learnt a lot and we continue to learn as we go! There is no way we could run this business without our trusty helpers Raelene and Leesa. Raelene came as a package deal with the houses, she worked with Gran and Pa when they owned it and she continues to help us out now. She knows how everything works in both houses and I can’t think of a single time that she has said no to helping us out! Leesa started with us soon after we bought West tce, she is seriously particular about cleaning and gardening and makes sure the houses are always perfectly presented, she is also very dedicated to her job and is extremely reliable. We are so lucky to have them both. We also rely heavily on the local businesses and having accounts at various local shops means that the girls can just get what they need from Kimba when they need it. We often call on local tradies to get us out of trouble as well! We love what we do and are so lucky to own this business in such a proactive little town.

Kevin Dart and his crew got ready at our Railway tce cottage while Krystal Dart and her girls made themselves even more beautiful at our West Tce House.... 09.01.2022 We recently had Huan and her friends from Brisbane stay at Olive House to visit the Lake Gairdner National Park. The lake is a 260km drive north of Kimba in the Gawler ranges. They did a day trip to see the beautiful lake and were back in Kimba that night to enjoy a nice shower, meal and comfy bed! They also managed to get this snap of the stunning lake.
