25.01.2022 Did you know that the blockade of Gaza includes energy and fuel? Unfortunately, power cuts are part of everyday life in Gaza. Gazans receive as little as 4 hours of electricity per day. Gaza's hospitals therefore heavily rely on generators... ...But now Israel is blocking fuel shipments meaning hospital generators cannot run during this global public health crisis. 25.01.2022 Thank you. To everyone who has donated, to everyone who has spread the word. Thanks to you, we have been able to deliver on our promise to provide 500 food packages (photos below) and 2,000 meals to Gazans in need. Our work continues. We’ve all been glued to our news feeds. Our Palestinian brothers and sisters in #Gaza are being relentlessly attacked by Israel. As part of our #GiveAGift campagin, our partners on the ground were working overtime to get the clothing packages ...and toys ready for #Palestinian children before #Eid. Given recent events, they were unable to have these packages delivered to the families intended. A more urgent need has now taken precedence. These packages will now be directed to families whose homes and livelihoods have been destroyed. Our volunteers on the ground are risking their lives to have these delivered as quickly and as efficiently as possible. We are currently liaising with our partners on the ground to ascertain what aid is required - watch this space for more information.

20.01.2022 Having already been confronted with trial and tribulation, Lebanon has now, amidst a global pandemic, been rocked by another tragedy beyond imagination. Most of us have seen the footage that has broken our hearts, and shaken us to our very core. Now, Beirut, and its people, are rallying to save lives, spread love and rebuild. The resilience and strength of its citizens in the past, and present, is something we want to encourage, support and applaud. We are grateful for every ...life marked safe, and mourn those that were not. Beirut is in all our thoughts and prayers, and we are wishing eternal strength upon its citizens during this time. A member of our global community is hurting, and the need for aid is paramount. 20.01.2022 Meet our little movers and shakers! As part of last year’s #RunforPalestine initiative, Olive Kids was able to raise over $30,000 in proceeds, targeting the development of a qualified sporting program, as well as the funding of PE kits, for Palestinian children and young adults alike at Al-Amal orphanage. Alongside its endeavour to promote fun and much needed respite for Palestine's increasingly vulnerable youth groups, with a focus on the female youth, the project aims to ...raise awareness for the importance of physical activity and the mental health of children. Move over, Real Madrid. You may have just met your match!

09.01.2022 With COVID-19 numbers quickly rising, coupled with fuel and supply blockages, Gaza is facing yet another crisis, making it almost impossible for both citizens and hospitals to maintain basic operation. Food, fuel and personal protective equipment are desperately needed immediately. We have liaised with those on the ground in order to ascertain, and prioritize, what is needed most. Olive Kids in partnership with the UHWC, MECA and Al-Amal orphanage are aiming to raise $70,000 ...to fund the purchase of: * 600 hygiene packages * 600 meal packages * 2000 COVID-19 tests, and * fuel for hospital generators We're confident that by coming together for the people of Gaza, we can help them get through this incredibly trying time. 09.01.2022 Olive Kids family. The carnage in #Gaza is growing exponentially by the day. Men, women and children alike are being targeted without rhyme or reason. We have liaised with our partners at the UHWCGaza who have identified what is most pressing. In response, we are launching our campaign, the Olive Kids Emergency Appeal for Gaza. ... You have all been so generous, and this does not go unnoticed. We appeal to you for more help. We all know how dire the situation in Gaza is on a ‘good’ day, and can only imagine the situation faced by Gazans now. Through this campaign, we hope to raise: $30,000 for urgently needed medical supplies and consumables for Al-Awda hospital and UHWC medical centers $15,000 for fuel generators for UHWC facilities to address critical electricity shortages $25,000 to fund 500 food packages for displaced and impacted families (AU$50 each), and $20,000 to fund 500 hygiene kits for impacted families (AU$40 each). 06.01.2022 Have you heard about our Empowering Abilities initiative? This initiative was launched in collaboration with the International Red Cross Society (ICRC) and the Artificial Limbs and Polio Centre (ALPC) in Gaza. Through this campaign, we sought to raise $60,000 to fund prosthetics for Palestinian children. And we did so - with great success! Phase 2 of this project has now been complete, with phase 3 well underway. Thanks to you, we have been able to support and fund prosthe...tics for over 300 children so far.
