22.01.2022 Feels like we've been gone for a thousand years. A self supported trip with @rum_doodle & @patcorden - carrying our 35kg plus packs from Lukla to Ama base camp. No porters, Sherpas or guides. Chaos, but we wouldn't have it any other way. Bung knees, smashed cameras, a somewhat guerrilla summit attempt and a handful of tears later we are now gathering ourselves for the journey home to fresh fruit, above minus temperatures and the quiet of a helicopter free sky. What a crazy season for Ama (6,812m). Among the chaos, and the multitude of air rescues yesterday (one from the summit!) there was beauty and calm in the warm smiles of the locals and the pink glowing clouds. More to show & tell but for now its time to feed our emaciated bodies! Kathmandu you are a million miles away from the stark stillness of the Himalaya.

Film projects are a labour of love, very often the filmmaker doesn't receive payment for the screening of their films. If you purchase a ticket through this link a percentage goes to the filmmaker! The physical Kendal Mountain Festival is based in the UK but due to that virus thingy they are going onlin...e. Which means you can enjoy all they have to offer form anywhere. 14.01.2022 We felt kinda crazy for even thinking of going climbing at @mtbuffalonationalpark after a 20cm snow drop ... True we had to break our own tracks in fresh snow and walk distances to get to the crags due to road closures but with warm bluebird days and not a whisper of wind it was worth the wet socks! So dreamy thanks @callum_dougalll for a magestic intro to Buffalo climbing.

13.01.2022 Hanging, quite literally, out with Wartook locals @callum_dougall & @jackbjane a wee while back. We accidentally stumbled onto this crag in the Gariwerd, in search of another wall. Old tattered guidebook in hand there was no route mentioned to the most inspiring line ... A corner crack leading up to a hand-sized overhanging roof crack! @jackbjane got straight into it - was it a first ascent, who knows. Who cares! Often the real adventure is in getting lost- even if I had to aid and thrash my way outta that thing Beaut day out with these good egg Wartookians. @arcteryxausnz @evolutionbydesign @totemmt @climbing_anchors
