09.01.2022 Tips on Vehicle Finance (business vehicle included): One major factor about the interest rate is the AGE of the vehicle. Generally major lenders will look at financing vehicle within 5 to 8 years old maximum. So when you tried to finance a vehicle that is older, like a 2005 truck, this will narrow the lenders' panel we can approach, and also it will increase the interest rate that the lender will offer you. It can go up to 20%. ... So prior deciding to buy or not an aged vehicle, check with your Finance Broker first, and preferably put in the contract that the vehicle must be financed by her/him, so you don't have to accept a deal that will cost you too much. 08.01.2022 Welcome to today weekly video. Today’s topic is on Comprehensive Credit Reporting, and how it affects you when borrowing money. Credit Reporting used to have only a negative reporting system, meaning only enquiries, defaults, late payments and bad debts were reported. Now, with the introduction of new legislation, everything is recorded on credit report, both negative and positive. This means that now lenders can see much more information, like when an account was opened or c...losed, type of account, credit limit, and even 24 months repayment history on all credit accounts. In terms of repayment history, lenders will see when payments are made on time and when payments are more than 14 days late. Lenders will also see all application, like pre-approval, accepted or declined. So how it affects you when applying for a loan? In general, it’s actually a good thing because Lenders can see when you’re making your repayment on time, and that would lower you rate. However, if you have any late payments above 14 days with a financial institution, or a default, this is now reported. This is also true with utility bills, such as water rate, council rate, and in these cases, the grace period can be shorter than 14 days. Now, if you have any late repayments or have been declined, it’s not the end. Depending of the reason why and how often, a lender could still consider your application. However, it’s better to speak with a professional Finance Broker who can see how to deal with the issue. I have examples of clients who have been declined by their banks and came to me. We were able to find a lender for them, by providing more information and a reasonable explanation. So it’s not always the end, but need professional attention. Thank you for joining me today, this concludes our weekly video post. As always feel free to share it amongst your friends and family. See you next week for another update.
