17.01.2022 Check out my super cute little buddy (and former Valentine ) Ethan in his new light up Skechers sneakers. Coincidentally Ethan and I both got crappy news at our eye doctors on Friday and we both opted for a bit of retail therapy to cheer ourselves up! (I expect his sneakers are probably a bit more practical than the jacket I bought - a (much) cheaper version of something I can imagine a Kardashian wearing in Aspen ! Should come in very handy at the Adelaide shoe shop )... But seeing him and his cute little shy face and hearing how he uncharacteristically jumped out of bed the next morning at 7am, put on his new shoes and was keen to walk his dogs Ham and Bug was even better . I just wonder who has replaced me as his new Valentine

(And on the subject of school shoes...we just received a new Pablosky school shipment...we have mary-janes and double velcro up to a 40 and lace-ups to a 42, and we also managed to get some navy mary-janes as well )

13.01.2022 Have been meaning to post this for a while but was reminded yesterday by a visit from our little 'lellow' loving customer Hayden who popped in for a new pair of the bright lellow gumboots (that I ordered specifically for him ). Do you guys remember when his 3rd lellow birthday party that his .Mum Michelle had organised with a visit by his fave lellow Adelaide organisation the RAA was derailed by the snap Adelaide lockdown? Well they made good on their promise and visited at a later date! One of the driver's Mum's made Hayden a mini RAA vest, and Michelle turned his little car into an RAA van..

It was Jans 70th on Tuesday...and she asked me once again to thank you for all your lovely messages Then today is the 30th anniversary of Deb starting work in our shop!!! ... So we organised a few surprises...coffee, flowers, balloons, lunch, champagne, a collage of old pics, Jan took her for a pedicure...and a life size cardboard cutout of Michael Hutchence who was waiting for her when she opened the door this morning Hilarity ensued! I think Jan even wished her happy birthday by mistake Congrats Deborah (or Barb, as one of our delivery drivers calls her ). Thanks for sticking it out with us for so long

04.01.2022 How’s everyone coping? I love this pic that staffer Phyllis sent me of her Mum, who is staying with her, cooking them some traditional Maltese food this afternoon. Phyllis is so tall but her mum is so teeny that she needs a stool to reach the bench

04.01.2022 So this morning before I got to work Deb had a call from a customer who had been in about 25 minutes earlier and bought her son a pair of Bobux boots. But...she’d put them on the roof of the car while she got her son in the car...forgot and drove off. So Deb, phone on ear rushes out to where the customer had parked and as she approaches she hears a crackle and the box of shoes goes flying in the air having been run over by a passing car...all of which Deb is relaying to the ...lady. She steps out on the road to retrieve them but looks up to see an oncoming bus and steps back. Luckily the bus driver seems to recognise her dilemma and slows and waves her through having a little chuckle to himself. So she rescues the shoes...box squished...but shoes still as good as new! She wouldn’t let me get her hilarious retelling of the entire story on camera, but I did convince her to do a little reenactment of the roadkill moment I mean the things we do (should I have edited out the swearing? )

03.01.2022 Who remembers our gorgeous little lellow loving customer Hayden? He only wants to wear lellow shoes...which thankfully we’ve so far been able to provide him with ...and who recently got lellow glasses. Well it turns out yesterday was his birthday Mum had a most excellent lellow themed birthday party planned...but then had to scramble Wednesday night to organise as many last minute lellow things as she could before we went into lockdown.... The three RAA vans that had agreed to stop by couldn’t come anymore but it looks like she did an excellent job and that he had a wonderful birthday with a lellow cake and lots of lellow digger presents, a lellow digger across the road and a present from the Coles delivery man! Happy birthday Hayden! We hope we can provide you with yellow shoes for as long as you still want them
