25.01.2022 Our Preps have been learning about the weather as well as practicing their oral language skills. Well done Meleisha who recorded this at home and presented it for her show and tell! Look at her proud smile! Our teachers work with students to help them master Standard Australian English while also honouring and supporting their home language (for most students this is Yumplatok or Torres Strait Creole).

22.01.2022 Our Preps and Grade 2 students have been busy in the garden and enjoyed eating their first harvest of cucumbers, radish and basil. They plucked their basil leaves, made up dance moves to a "Pesto Dance" with Ms Dani, watched as Ms Nadine mised all the ingredients together in the thermomix and enjoyed eating a delicious pesto pasta lunch! Thank you to our staff Ms Luella, Ms Judy, Ms Dani and Ms Nadine as well as George and Henry's mum Ms Catherine for all their help!

19.01.2022 Monday was an important day - spent on Kerriri (Hammond Island) with representatives of the Traditional Owners the Kaurareg Nation, members of the Kerriri or Hammond Island community and the Catholic Church. The purpose was to start the process of healing and reconciliation. It was a powerful day, full of challenging conversations and an openness to heal and accept eachother. Many committments made by the school and the Catholic Church - our next step will be changing those words into meaningful actions.
