25.01.2022 The joy of being back in workshops at last, with this team of 18 dedicated educators at Olsen Avenue Community Children’s Centre, on Saturday morning. . This t...eam development workshop focused on team identity, connection, wellbeing and communication. In just two hours we collaborated to draft a shared team purpose/mission statement together, figured out the stages of team development and ways to keep moving forward, discovered personal strengths within the team, AND explored communication for a culture of enquiry! . It was such a pleasure to work with you all... in person! Cheers to your ongoing discovery and professional learning.
25.01.2022 A big thank you to Jamie and everyone at Murray's Marine upholstery for all of your donations of open ended resources we use inside with our craft and outside developing our imagination. The children wanted to show there appreciation by using the materials you donated to make a Christmas Card.

23.01.2022 Vacancy Enroll your child now for 2020 We have openings available in the Nursery, Toddler and three year old room. ... We are a beautiful centre set back amongst the bush land, with large outdoor play areas that promote discovery and encourage exploration. While inside, our mindful and passionate team of educators create amazing play spaces for children where they have the opportunity to become inquisitive and capable learners. We pride ourselves on community spirt and family involvement. A group of parents form our committee that support the running of the centre which in turn means the children always come first. At our setting we are passionate about early years, inspiring our little ones to be the thinkers and doer’s of the future. We follow the children’s interests and go where their curiosity, wonder and awe take them. We encourage you to come in and take a look, and offer free settling in sessions to all families enrolling. Please call 55376744 to make an appointment. We look forward to meeting you.

21.01.2022 Ozcare Labrador often have special weeks to create a fun atmosphere for their residents, last weeks theme was monkey around. The children drew pictures of monkeys to help cheer up the hallways and create an fun space for the elderly residents who often feel isolated, especially during these times. What a fantastic way for the children to build connections with their wider community.
19.01.2022 The child’s voice- The Children had decided that they would spend the proceeds from the Fathers Day raffle on new Australian animal toys. They arrived today. Have a look at all the learning experiences the Preschool class had, scaffolding their own learning. Today the Preschool Children had an exciting time opening some new resources. They felt the packages, listened to the sound they made and guessed what they might be. One of the children noticed that one of the small bo...xes had a square end and one was rectangle, so we explored the boxes and shapes too. Inside we discovered wooden Australian animals and in the boxes, we found more Australian animals. Following on from this the children adventured outside to find natural fauna to add to the display table, while others made homes built from boxes and recycled craft materials. Quality Area 1 Educational program and practice The aim of Quality Area 1 of the National Quality Standard is to ensure that the educational program and practice is stimulating and engaging, and enhances children’s learning and development.

09.01.2022 Dear OACCC family and friends. Anzac Day is a time to remember and acknowledge all those who fought for our freedom. 06.01.2022 Look what just arrived The children were extremely excited to see the arrival of our new watertank. Thank you to all our families for your support. Without your generosity helping to sell sausages at the Bunnings barbecue, and recent sales of raffle tickets, we wouldn’t of been able to raise the $3700 dollars need to purchase and install the water tank. What a fantastic way for the children to learn about community spirit and working together to achieve a common goal. OACCC can now ensure that all children learn about sustainability and how water is a precious resource that must be looked after for future generations.
06.01.2022 Yesterday the children made pictures to brighten the hallway of one of our local nursing homes. With Covid 19 putting the elderly into isolation, we thought it might be nice to receive something to let them know we are thinking of them

02.01.2022 Today some of the children helped to spread the joy of Christmas as they learnt the gift of giving. Each of the rooms had made our elderly neighbours at the Rotary Village some sweet treats, drawings and cards. We knocked on the doors one by one delivering our gifts. Those that were home got quite a surprise as the children greeted them with MERRY CHRISTMAS and handed them their gift. ... It was lovely to see that no matter how small the act of kindness is, it is never wasted. Olsen Avenue Community Childrens Centre wish everyone a safe and happy New Year
02.01.2022 Jinjeri (hello) Olsen Avenue Community Childrens Centre would like to knowledge Rachel Jack from Wiriadjiri Mob, Western N.S.W for painting this beautiful piece of artwork. After a cultural yarn with our local elder Uncle Allan, we decided that the Magpie best represented the centre as it totem.... The Kulamburunn (Magpie) has particular significance to us. Generations of these beautiful birds have grown up here, and visit the children each and every day. The children welcome them and enjoy sharing their meal times with the birds. 01.01.2022 We love watching this video of all our families up and dancing, such a fun day
01.01.2022 Meet Carol, I was introduced to her a few months back and thought she was such an interesting, knowledgeable and friendly character that I knew the children would love her. So I asked Carol if she would like to volunteer her time to spend with the children? Carol now visits us once a month. Intergenerational programs like this provide opportunities for different generations to come together to share experiences, knowledge, and skills that are mutually beneficial and foste...r positive long-term relationships. The children have already formed a lovely bond with Carol greeting her with excitement and open arms. Element 6.2.3 Community engagement: The service builds relationships and engages with its community.
