24.01.2022 Families that allow their children to use Tik Tok please read this. Liz

24.01.2022 Thinking of all families this morning as we celebrate our fathers and those that are father figures. This year getting together is more challenging for many reasons, please smile and remember that it's what's in our hearts that is most important. If you can, pick up the phone and call. Everyone is very good a video meets, this is a great way of being together when we are apart. 'Children need models rather than critics' Joseph Joubert.... Today is for all of the models in the lives of our students and families. Enjoy the sunshine and simply being together. Liz

22.01.2022 Such good news from an OLSH School.

22.01.2022 It’s Wellbeing Wednesday. A time for all to take 5 and refresh for the run to the end of term. There are no CLASS MEETS or class work. All families have a slide show do options for today. ... Students being supervised onsite are also participating in Wellbeing Wednesday and will wear casual clothes and enjoy a sausage sizzle for lunch. Parents this day is for you especially. We are grateful for the work you are doing. Teachers are also having a break from messages, MEETS and supervising. (Below is their Wellbeing Pack) See you tomorrow. Liz

17.01.2022 Happy Friday everyone. We are half way through remote learning. We’ve enjoyed our first Wellbeing Wednesday which was a time for all to rest and refresh. It was my gift to everyone, staff, parents and students. Everyone is working together to make sure our students, their children get what they need to learn. I couldn’t be more proud of everyone during this time. ... Tonight I was the surprised and grateful recipient of tea. Thanks to everyone for your support, energy and commitment to OLSH. Liz Trewick. 12.01.2022 We are disappointed that we are unable to invite past, present and future supporters (families) into our school to showcase all we have to offer. Please watch this virtual tour and call (54326254) or email ([email protected]) if you have any questions. Liz

12.01.2022 Today is R U OK Day. Who are you going to check in on today?

09.01.2022 Today I joined Dan Andrews to outline our roadmap out of lockdown. Importantly it includes some significant announcements for schools and early childhood servic...es I want to share with you. Students will begin returning to school next term in a careful, staged approach. For the first week of Term 4, all students will continue to learn remotely, except senior secondary students doing VCE/VCAL essential assessments on-site and, for VCE students, the General Achievement Test (GAT) on 7 October. Students in regional and rural specialist schools can continue to attend on-site. From 12 October, metropolitan Melbourne students in Prep to Grade 2, VCE and VCAL and specialist schools will return to on-site learning. Teachers will only need to be on-site to deliver classes if their students are, or to provide supervision for students who need to attend on-site. Otherwise they are able to work from home. All regional and rural Victorian students will return to on-site learning from 12 October. Schools will have local flexibility to determine the best staged approach for different year levels, with all students to be back on-site by Friday 16 October. Students in Years 3 to 10 in metropolitan Melbourne will continue remote and flexible learning, with a decision on their on-site return to be made based on future health data and expert public health advice. Early childhood education and care will be open to all children from 28 September, with parents/carers no longer requiring a permit. Sessional kindergarten will be open for all children to attend at the start of Term 4, and eligibility for outside school hours care attendance will continue to align with schools. I know how hard this period has been on everyone. I want to take this opportunity to thank all our brilliant school and early childhood staff, parents, carers and most importantly students.

08.01.2022 Families were sent an email about this series earlier this evening.

05.01.2022 A high risk of epidemic thunderstorm asthma conditions have been forecast in the Mallee, Wimmera, Northern Country and South West weather districts for tomorrow... November 11. This is due to the combination of grass pollen and severe thunderstorms. If people have asthma or hayfever, the advice is to go inside, close doors and windows and avoid wind gusts before and during the storm. If you have asthma, make sure that you are using your asthma preventer regularly and that you have your reliever available at all times. Activate your asthma plan if you develop increasing symptoms.
