24.01.2022 What 10,000 horsepower does to a top fuel tire at launch. TOP FUEL ACCELERATION PUT INTO PERSPECTIVE * One Top Fuel dragster 500 cubic-inch Hemi engine makes ...more horsepower (10,000 HP) than the first 5 rows at the Daytona 500. * Under full throttle, a dragster engine consumes 1.2-1.5 gallons of nitro methane per second; a fully loaded 747 consumes jet fuel at the same rate with 25% less energy being produced. * A stock Dodge Hemi V8 engine cannot produce enough power to merely drive the dragsters supercharger. * With 3000 CFM of air being rammed in by the supercharger on overdrive, the fuel mixture is compressed into a near-solid form before ignition. Cylinders run on the verge of hydraulic lock at full throttle. * At the stoichiometric 1.7:1 air/fuel mixture for nitro methane the flame front temperature measures 7050 degrees F. * Nitromethane burns yellow. The spectacular white flame seen above the stacks at night is raw burning hydrogen, dissociated from atmospheric water vapor by the searing exhaust gases. * Dual magnetos supply 44 amps to each spark plug. This is the output of an arc welder in each cylinder. * Spark plug electrodes are totally consumed during a pass. After 1/2 way, the engine is dieseling from compression plus the glow of exhaust valves at 1400 degrees F. The engine can only be shut down by cutting the fuel flow. * If spark momentarily fails early in the run, unburned nitro builds up in the affected cylinders and then explodes with sufficient force to blow cylinder heads off the block in pieces or split the block in half. * Dragsters reach over 300 MPH before you have completed reading this sentence. * In order to exceed 300 MPH in 4.5 seconds, dragsters must accelerate an average of over 4 Gs. In order to reach 200 MPH well before half-track, the launch acce leration approaches 8 Gs. * Top Fuel engines turn approximately 540 revolutions from light to light! * Including the burnout, the engine must only survive 900 revolutions under load. * The redline is actually quite high at 9500 RPM. * THE BOTTOM LINE: Assuming all the equipment is paid off, the crew worked for free, & for once, NOTHING BLOWS UP, each run costs an estimated $1,000 per second. 0 to 100 MPH in .8 seconds (the first 60 feet of the run) 0 to 200 MPH in 2.2 seconds (the first 350 feet of the run) 6 g-forces at the starting line (nothing accelerates faster on land) 6 negative g-forces upon deployment of twin chutes at 300 MPH An NHRA Top Fuel Dragster accelerates quicker than any other land vehicle on earth . . quicker than a jet fighter plane . . . quicker than the space shuttle. The current Top Fuel dragster elapsed time record is 4.420 seconds for the quarter-mile (2004, Doug Kalitta). The top speed record is 337.58 MPH as measured over the last 66 of the run (2005, Tony Schumacher). Putting this all into perspective: You are driving the average $140,000 Lingenfelter twin-turbo powered Corvette Z06. Over a mile up the road, a Top Fuel dragster is staged & ready to launch down a quarter-mile strip as you pass. You have the advantage of a flying start. You run the Vette hard up through the gears and blast across the starting line & pass the dragster at an honest 200 MPH. The tree goes green for both of you at that moment. The dragster launches & starts after you. You keep your foot down hard, but you hear an incredibly brutal whine that sears your eardrums & within 3 seconds the dragster catches & passes you. He beats you to the finish line, a quarter-mile away from where you just passed him. Think about it - from a standing start, the dragster had spotted you 200 MPH & not only caught, but nearly blasted you off the road when he passed you within a mere 1320 foot long race! Thats acceleration!

24.01.2022 Well done Jack and the Tickford Team.

10.01.2022 Kym has been in this game for a long time. Seen a lot of highs and lows. This was the time to sit back and relax, reassess and go again. This week three chassis went out the door, three chassis currently getting assembled and more coming in. One of which is a custom built enduro chassis for a long term supporter of Omega, Kent Hargrave. On another note, in the background there is a lot of R & D going on for a new Outlaw Kart. Over a year ago Omega had a successful 250 outlaw kart turning laps and winning. Following on from that prototype, the complete package for all classes is coming.

09.01.2022 So another build and chapter begins we can’t wait. Before it does though,Riley would like to send a BIG Thank You to Shane GB(Omega). If not for you this would not be happening. Also to Kym (Omega Racing Karts)on delivering a quality piece of equipment. See you at the track.

09.01.2022 Two Omega‘s on this podium, well done to Brad Cunneen and Shane GB. Apart from the Novice class, Omega‘s finished on the podium in 4 of the 5 title classes for the NSW Title at Nepean - KNSW.

08.01.2022 A few Omega drivers turned up at one of the first in the country return to racing meet at Kurri NSW, SKAA - East Coast Speedway Kart Club. Thanks to East Coast and ZP Images. Time to blow the cob webs and get back on point. Dan Morris won the 125s, it was a son and father finish. Zane Rainey came home second in juniors.... Shane GB finished second in Mods. Tony Ball came home 3rd in Mods, he was battling with Andrew Wood. Other notables Riley Stuart ran 2 classes, thoroughly enjoyed the power in junior standards, had a ball racing. Charlie GB was cautious with the new power in junior standards, the motor sounded sweet. The Garlands, Jarrod and Bec, the whole family enjoying there racing. Joel Robbo had fun, good to get back together with friends. Andrew Wood had mechanical problems most of the day but completed the final in fourth. A beautiful day. Just good to be back. Next one coming soon.

07.01.2022 Omega EdgeDI47L 4ss All ready for the next combat. Got a couple of battle scars from the first outing and a bent sprocket carrier which finished our day. It’s ...all repaired & waiting............ What we did learn was the kart is fast & can foot it at the front. It’s a competitive package & I look forward to seeing it compete a full race meeting. Lots to love about this kart, you easily access the clutch, no split sprockets and no chains with links. Designed and built for the fastest growing class in karting 4ss. 07.01.2022 Build is near completion. He’s telling me all he needs is a good power plant.? Lol ( thanks for giving up your Sunday SGB).

05.01.2022 The Wizzard At Toowoomba, Paul had a hugely successful day. There were 12 twins which is a great class size. The Wizzard had the Hondas on board (2 x 6hp, total of 12hp). The other 11 karts had Torinis, 13hp each, total of 26hp. ... He started out of P11 heat 1 & finished P5. Heat 2 finished P4, prefinal finished P4, final finished P4. We opened a few eyes with how well it went, people came over & talked to him about the kart, they were impressed. Looks like Kent and Omega will be selling a few of these Wizzard chassiss. Were racing this weekend at Warwick.

05.01.2022 Southern Winter Shootout today for my boys and what a close day of racing it was! Dominic did so well in his Omega Racing Karts EDGE while both Joe and Kym did ...a great job getting it firing to win the day! Heat 1 = 2nd Heat 2 = 1st Heat 3 = 2nd Final = 1st Fastest lap of the day went to both Dom and Noah who set exactly the same time of 40.454 in different heats and there was less than half a second between the two of them all day. Thanks as always to State Crane-Truck and Kyalls Cabinetry for the sponsorship and MG Engines for the solid engine. Wish I was there to see it buddy, proud of you! (No pics today as daddy didnt take any or actually press record on apparently the best speech ever ) See more

05.01.2022 Blank plates for those who dont run Omegas

04.01.2022 Developed and constructed by some very talented minds, the new Omega Wizzard.

04.01.2022 Firstly thanks to Zac from ZP Images - always great work. Nepean Speedway - KNSW 28/6/2020. Omegas doing laps, the majority for their first time since the start of Covid.... In Rookies a big 15 kart field, with a lot of talent amongst them; Zane Rainey #9 consistent, good speed, great racecraft, 2nd for the day. Brodie Debono #10 his first run is his new Omega. A solid day finishing 3rd for the day and showed great speed in the final. James Brooks #4 more or less his first run in his recently purchased Omega. Happy day, mixing it with is mates, getting better and better. Tyler Collins #2 mid pack in a quality field, only recently come up to Rookies, getting confidence, lap times Improving. Happy to be racing again. Juniors - unfortunately a small field Riley Stewart #27 prefers the power of the restricted restricted clubby as opposed to his Open J but cant mix it with those IAMEs. He loves racing. Mod Heavy winner winner; Andrew Wood #88. The only photo I got of him on the track was him covered in mud. On the podium he was a little cleaner. Consistent, smart driving and a good setup put him on the pole for the final. His race craft put him on the top step of the podium. Congratulations. Mod Lights - one could say one lap too much with the water kart. Brad Cunneen #4 using clubs shows to refine/develop his package, a few little gremlins and mechanical issues/trials meant there was an unfortunate DNF. FInished the day off strong - 2nd on the final, happy with the finals mechanical changes/setup. Robert King #53 really happy with his speed. Redeeming himself from some off the misfortunes of the previous season. A lot of work has gone into the off season and now his happy. There was a first corner incidents/tangle up in one of the heats, which with KNSW meant it was a DNF. One of the ZP images shows the only distinguishable karts rolling around are those starting on the front row. Rob and Luke Geering and very good company at that. Great to be racing again well done to all involved and those that could make it possible. Thank you.

04.01.2022 One thing is certain with endurance racing, it is a team environment and we all have to work together. We all know that the drivers are a huge part of the final... outcome, but, nothing is more critical than the strategy that goes into achieving the goal. Kris Webb is our man, hes very astute, he sits down before the race meeting and works out a plan. We cant always run exactly to it, as things change throughout the race, but Kris is quick off the mark & will change things to suit on the fly. Mate, we are very grateful for what you do for the team, we wouldnt be as successful as we are without you, THANK YOU See more

03.01.2022 Two young fellas ripping it up in Cairns. Omega drivers Sam Jnr 1st and Lucca 2nd - SKAA Juniors. Smiles all round, well done to all.

03.01.2022 5/7/2020 - Gosford Showground - KNSW, CCSKC. A beautiful sunny Sunday of Speedway racing. Brodie #10 and James #4, had a lot of fun competing in their second race meet with their new Omegas. Along with Zane #9 in his Omega, in which they all contested in the Rookies class. Another strong field with some very good notables racing.... Brodie and James raced cautiously, learning more and more, lap by lap, heat by heat. Zane had great speed throughout the heats. Prior to the final, Brodie tallied up the most points, Zane second and James mid pack. Reverse grid for the final, track had gripped up, two Omegas starting from the rear and the other mid pack. The first start of the final saw James get into the lead, unfortunately with a tangle up behind they were all called back for a restart. The next and final restart saw James in the lead again. He lead lap after lap after lap, fantastic and awesome to watch. The other Omega boys started racing their way through the field. Both had good speed. Brodie got into second and shortly afterwards Zane into third. Omegas 1, 2 and 3. James was driving like a champion. With only a few laps left Brodie managed to get himself into first and Zane into second. James started a little catch-up driving, second last lap clipping the infield and went into a spin. Race declared. The boys were happy. Zane wanted more, more will come. Brodie was quick, he got the monkey off his back, his first meet win. Congratulations Brodie on your win. The timid/shy boy with that smile. Congratulations to all it was great racing. Thank you Omega.

02.01.2022 The Omega Wizzard enduro kart is ready for Paul Crossley to race next weekend at Toowoomba. #omegaracingkarts #honda #airtechtools #anythingracing #thebuildinginspectionteam

What a great day for JSE Racing at Nudgee. ... Jack in his Omega Wasp 2 racing in Juniors went 3rd, 3rd and 4th in his heats starting him out of 2 for the Feature. After getting held wide on the start Jack settled into 3rd and while trying a pass for 2nd spun and got put to the rear. This fired Jack up and drove awesome from 8th back around the field to pick up 3rd. Cooper in his Omega Wasp racing in Junior Standards went with a clean sweep of 1sts in his heats starting him out of 1 for the Feature. Cooper has a great start and on a tricky track 2nd tried to make a couple of moves but Cooper held his line and settled into a groove finishing on top of the Podium in 1st. James in his Omega Wasp 2 racing in 125 Non Gear Box went with 1st,2nd and a 3rd in his heats starting him out of 2 for the Feature. James got a great start and took the lead and with plenty of pressure from 2nd held on for 1st.
