George is a stalwart of the Omega CC and brings a profound level of experience to his captaincy, while being a fantastic people person. There is no doubt the 4th XI is in for a massive season. Please allow me this opportunity to thank Daniel Bourne who has captained both the 4th XI and 3rd XI over the past two seasons. 24.01.2022 Hi All, *** Round FIVE WRAP Up *** With 19 players unavailable, it was a herculean efforts from the Chairman of Selectors and Captains to get the men's teams filled and delivering 4 out of 5 wins for Rnd Five. ... The ladders are starting to take shape with 1/3 of the season completed and as we should, our teams are either in the final 4 or knocking on the door of March action. 1st XI - 7/209 defeat Hampton Central 174 - Batting first Dawk (25)/Moose (41) put on 57 for the opening stand, which allowed Booma (40), Brayden O'Toole (46) and Jarred Fletcher (29 off 24) to set the daunting 209 - Flynn (4/31) and Jarred (3/18) led the bowling attack. Women's XI - 2/48 defeat Kingston Heath 8/46 - Bowling first with the Ultimate Cooper Combination that set the standard with skipper Jordy (1/7) and Julie (3/5). Chantelle (2/7) and Payal (1/1) were awesome too :) - Kailey (11) continued her red hot form and Jordy (9*) finished the run chase off. Payal (8) and Julie (6) were solid contributors 2nd XI - 6/185 defeat Bentleigh Uniting (2) 146 - Ben Kelly (25) continued his solid start to the season, but the hero of the day was Brad Atholwood (85). James Tulley (44*) finished the day off in style - All the bowlers shared in the wickets, with both Jonty Ho and Nick Bridges leading the cartel with 2/29 each 3rd XI - 6/150 defeat Hampton Central (3) 103 - Steve Lay (42) and Steve Mitchell (27) set the day up beautifully with an opening stand of 69 before Adam Vanek (21) and Tommy Smith (22) rounded out the day nicely - Boom Recruit Varun Gupta (5/20) continues to shine, while Lay (1/11), Tabs Jnr (1/5) and Rogers (1/13) finished the job off in style 4th XI - 8/202 defeated by Cluden (3) 3/213 - Welcome back to cricket Dion Lucas (75*), who was well supported by Ilya Fridman (51) and Gaz Thompson (20) - Unfortunately the bowlers struggled to make any in roads to the strong Cluden line up. Tiger Bourne (1/24) and Mick Aldred (1/27) were our wicket takers 5th XI - 2/180 defeat Carnegie South (3) 139 - Big batting performance with Greg Nunn (52 ret) Bhavin Nagar (32 ret) Peter Barton (52 ret). Like riding a bike hey Barts ;) - Dutchy Holland (3/26) led the bowl attack, while Barts (2/17) continued a great return, while Tabs Snr chipped in with 1/24 Huge THANK YOU to all the guys who pulled on the whites for the first time in a while to help the club out Cliffy Ryan, Vern Rozario, Shane Currie and Peter Barton just to name a few Awesome weekend for the club. 15.01.2022 A Great Start to the Junior Season! --> Blasters <-- We had a great first Blasters session down at Bricker Reserve on Friday evening. We welcomed 10 new Blasters to the club and a great time was had by all.... --> Rookies <-- The Rookies had their first games on Saturday. We welcomed 7 new Rookies to the club and they all acquitted themselves very well, taking their first wickets and making their first runs... with many more to come, I'm sure. Of course, the returning Rookies showed how much they have improved from last year. --> U12's <-- The under 12D's had a bye but it was great to see them down training early on Saturday morning, getting ready for their first game next week. Of course, they also provided vocal support for the Rookies.

THREE U/16 premiership players returning to play senior cricket after time away from the club Welcome Back - Nick Lloyd Nick is a high quality young man and amazing athlete who has been playing his cricket with Jarred Fletcher at Bayside CC in recent years. We are pumped to have this promising young fast bowler back at Omega CC Welcome Back - Harry Wardlaw Harry played 1st XI cricket back in 2017/18, however took some time to away from the game to recharge the batteries. Harry is a unique talent and adds massive depth to our batting stocks. We can't wait to see Harry make his mark on the 20/21 season . Welcome Back - Jonty Ho Jonty maybe one of the most loved people in club history, similar to Harry took some time away to chill out from cricket. Jonty is back with his bamboozling leg spin and will no doubt cast a spell on many of the batsmen who cross his path. It is very exciting to have these young men back at Omega CC and will no doubt be significant contributors, both on and off the field. 13.01.2022 Hi All, ** 2nd XI Captains - Michael Fletcher & James Tulley ** The Omega Executive is excited to announce a new leadership team for our 2nd XI... Taking on the Captaincy, in his first on field appointment is 2014/15 1st XI Premiership player Michael Fletcher. We are confident Michael will create an amazing team environment with his infectious personality, however also provide an steely edge with his competitive nature. Supporting Michael as 2nd XI Vice-Captain, also in his first on field appointment is 2017/18 1st XI Premiership Player James Tulley. There is no doubt James has a bright leadership future ahead of him, while managing the development of his own game. We are confident James has the fortitude to take his contribution to the next level. Having TWO 1st XI Premiership Players leading our 2nd XI is simply awesome. Let me take this opportunity to acknowledge and thank Nick Bridges and Ben Hibbert who successfully steered our 2nd XI last season to yet another finals campaign. If there were points up for grabs in the off field stakes last night - we would have won those too!! Please see the below highlights;... 1st XI - Omega 8/257 defeat Cluden 185 - 3 debutants, Flynn McGaw, Jarred Fletcher & Lochy O'Grady. - Glenn Beckett (127) and Matt Caia (97) delivering a 204 run partnership - New bowling cartel delivering the 10 wickets. Kane O'Toole x 3, Pat Burnell, Flynn McGaw and Jarred Fletcher with 2 each and Lochy O'Grady finished the day off with 1. 2nd XI - Omega 1/137 defeat Hampton United 133 - Jarryd Wilson led the bowling attack with 3 poles. Great to see former Junior Nick Lloyd back at Omega CC taking 1 wicket. James Tulley and Nick Bridges also getting 1 wicket each - TWO Young Guns got the job done in convincing style with Ben Kelly making 61* Harry Wardlaw on one leg making a great return with 60* delivering Michael Fletcher his first win as skipper 3rd XI - Omega 1/141 defeat Mackie 136 - Sandeep Beniwal was the star of the show is an impressive 111* - the bowlers had a good spread, with Luke Nunn, Jonty Ho, Ben Taberner and Beniwal all getting 2 wickets each. - We welcomed Will Auld from Mackie to Omega CC and he contributed with his first wicket for the club 4th XI - Omega 4/194 defeat East Bentleigh Central 7/183 - Laurie Brown opened the batting with 39 and Warren Henricus made his return to Omega CC in style with an impressive 32*, however it was Damon Eldridge who led the charge with a stunning 73, including 4 of the biggest tommy's you will see. - Another fantastic spread of wickets for the bowlers with Ayden Rogers, Gary Thompson and Ilya Fridman pitched in with 2 each. As the club progresses towards Round TWO, we appreciate this is only the start of a long journey and we are still only scratching the surface of our potential. 09.01.2022 Hi All, ** 1st XI Captains - Glenn Beckett & Kane O'Toole ** The Omega Executive is proud to reappointment 2018/19 Woolnough Premiership Captain and Club Champion Glenn Beckett as Captain of Omega CC's 1st XI.... Glenn is entering his 5th season is charge of the clubs top team and I have no doubt we are yet to see the best of Glenn as a leader and player. Regardless of any captains experience, there is always the need for continued support and we are excited to appointment Kane O'Toole as 1st XI Vice-Captain. We all know Kane to be an impressive young man and has made significant contributions to the club in recent years as a junior coach and committee member. That contribution will only grow as Glenn's number 2. We are so fortunate to have such quality on field leaders, that have the right experience and temperament under pressure. 09.01.2022 Hi All, ** BIG NEWS - Welcome Back Flynn McGaw ** The Omega Executive is super excited to announce former junior prodigy Flynn Mcgaw is back for the 2020/21 Season. ... It's obvious the club has lacked depth with spinners for some time and that's why it is awesome to see Jonty Ho back in the fold. Flynn comes back to Omega CC with a very impressive resume for a 19yr old. There is no doubt he will make an instant impact in our 1st XI. The 2019/20 season consisted of; - Dingley 1st XI Premiership Player - Left Arm off spin - 15 wickets from only 71 overs - 241 runs @ 24.1 - with limited opportunity. We feel complimented that Flynn knows it's the Omega CC program that will take his game to the next level. It's hard to contain the excitement here, Omega CC is on fire - building an awesome playing list for our assault on the 2020/21 Season. 09.01.2022 Hi All, *** Great News come in THREE's *** The Omega Executive is super excited to announce the recruitment of Dylan Mcmaster, Daniel Tinginis & Joel Nankervis to the Omega CC for the 2020/21 Season. ... It's fantastic to see these impressive young men choose Omega CC as the place they want to contribute to. Each with variable cricket backgrounds, but ultimately they are great mates and that's what Omega is all about; - Dylan played 1st XI cricket with Jarred Fletcher at Bayside CC and is a promising keeper/batsman - Daniel has played at Mackie and ANA. He is a keen bowler and will no doubt develop into an awesome all rounder - Joel is a former ANA junior, with much to contribute on the field, but will also be awesome off it :) The Senior Men's playing list continues to grow and with more work being doing in the background to add more depth - it promises to be a competitive pre-season. 06.01.2022 Hi All, ** NEW Initiative - Omega CC's Top Gun Program ** In the wake of the 2019/20 season, the new Executive conducted an extensive review of all cricket operations. ... It was determined along with a more resourced internal coaching department, further investment was deemed appropriate via an external coach. The Executive has formed a new partnership with Cricket HQ in Moorabbin to offer some of our bright and shinning stars private coaching, outside of the traditional Tues/Thurs training times. This investment from the club is designed to harness a talented playing group and ensure their potential is reached.
